Thats a tall order, Boss. I assume you'd take an RB at #4? Who? Trade for a QB? Who and what are you going to give for him? Patch up the Oline? Who would you draft? Sign via FA? Lest it seem that I'm asking questions I won't answer, here what I think we should/could do. Scenario One: We keep Penny and he starts. Draft D'brick #4, Jean-Giles or Mangold in the second. Keep Mawae and Kendall. Redo CMart's contract. O looks like this: LT: D'Brick, LG: Kendall, C: Mawae, RG: Jean-Giles, RT: Jones WR: Coles, McCareins and Cotchery. TE: Baker/Dressen QB: Penny HB: Houston/CMart, FB:Askew Scenario Two: Penny goes and we blow up the O. Draft Cultler at #4. Olineman, maybe a tackle, in the 2nd. In this case we might be better served to let Kendall go. I'm not sure what the Oline looks like in this case. Skill positions stay the same, but Bollinger starts as a stop-gap till Cutler is ready. Scenario one and we can compete. Scenario two we're a couple years away.
And Parcells took the play calling duties away from Charlie Weis for his last year and a half with the Jets. How did that impede his development? And how exactly did writers know what went on at a Belichick meeting. He runs a pretty tight ship. the NE beat writers probably have as much credibility as Fatso Cannizzarro.
build the O-line, and D to fit what Mangini wants this year...next year after the losing it out of our system, get the QB and/or RB we need to make it go...I doubt if anyone is expecting much out of 06' cpt a good draft spot in the 07 draft
Could go for a QB in '06. I think our direction will depend on how the situation with Penny plays out.
