I can see the Giants taking Barkley which opens up Rosen/Allen/Mayfield for us. They have that kid Webb already on the roster and he could be Eli's heir apparent. I dont think Getterman cares about the back pages of the NY Media so trying to upstage the Jets really shouldn't be an issue.

You can delete the "maybe" for Baker & insert "Definitely" ... if macc moved up to 3 to draft barkley then he NEEDS to be FIRED... IMMEDIATELY!!!

    I see it as going...

    1- Browns- Darnold
    2- Giants- Rosen
    3. Jets- Mayfield... He IS my personal preference.

I see the Giants Definitely drafting a top 3 QB... the last time they had that opportunity was with Eli... Eli would still start this year & maybe next.. then it's the new jack. 2 seasons is still enough time for Eli to try & do something & gives his back up valuable learning experience to step right in & lead the team...not even the Most ardent Eli fan would be able to argue against that.

Giants are too uptight as an organization to take Mayfield or Rosen. Besides that, Rosen is the most NFL ready of the bunch, with them keeping Manning that doesn’t seem like a fit. I think if they do take a QB it’s Darnold or Allen but more likely they take Barkley if they stay at 2 and Darnold goes 1.

I'm not buying the big trade up just to draft a RB. That would make Macc offseason look like he's schizo. He signed two QB so trade up and add another one? He signed Crowell and have Powell and McGuire and he trades up for Barkley. His offensive line is trash. So what was the big picture. Macc thinking would look like a Jackson Pollack painting.

No they're not.. I see Rosen fitting right in... an elitist for an elitist organization with an elitist fan base... round peg for a round hole.

Take away Carson Wentz photographic memory and the fact that he was the smartest QB coming out in years he would probably suck. If Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield switched college teams how many games does OK lose to teams not named Georgia?

We didn't give up three picks to draft a running back. We traded up to solve our QB problem (which now is now acute as to be ridiculous.)

Other than QBs arent judged solely on their numbers and anyone who watched them pass the ball at the all star game and combine would get that. You also have to overlook more than a few red flags in regards to Mayfield and be very sure that theyre not important

He would have been crucified by the media and fan base taking Nelson at 6, trading up for a guard would be worse that trading up for Barkley. Any position besides QB, and Mac is gone.

They have that kid Webb on their roster, but he isn't the prospect Rosen, Darnold, and Mayfield are, and he was chosen by the previous regime, so Gettleman owes him nothing. He could think that between Webb and Rosen, he'd be all but guaranteed that he has Eli's replacement in house, so can focus on other more immediate needs in the rest of the draft and FA. Regardless of what he thinks of Webb, Rosen, Darnold, and Mayfield, it could also come down to whether he thinks the Giants would have a realistic shot of winning it all in the next 2 years.

I also feel Barkley will be the Giants pick. I feel the Giants went to Eli and asked him how many years does he want to play.
If the answer was 3 or more...then they will not Draft a QB. If he said he wasn't sure...then they Draft a QB. I can't see them sitting a #2 pick
On the bench for 3 years when they can have instant success with Barkley. & I do believe Eli feels he has 3 to 4 years left in him.

You could definitely be right, but I don't think Eli's good enough any longer to get them to, much less win, a SB. If I was the GM of the Giants, I sure wouldn't go by what Eli said. I'd make the determination for myself. Eli's never been as good as Peyton or Brady, and even Brady's play has started dropping off.

With all the issues they have with their OL and D, I think they'd be nuts to go all in with Eli and try to make a run. If I'm the Giants' GM, unless I really believed in Davis Webb, I'm taking a FQB prospect and not looking back. I'd probably let Eli go ahead and start this season and let the rookie watch and learn, but if Eli still wanted to play next season, he'd have to compete for the starting job.

If I thought that Webb would be my future starter, then I'd look to trade down a few spots, garner an additional pick or picks, and take Chubb or Nelson, and look to upgrade the talent as much as I could, hopefully also filling a hole or two along the way.
