Not every coach was a hall of fame linebacker with impeccable technique like Singletary.

every time they show Singeltary he was talking to his players, one on one, in a huddle , he was always on top of things , and you could see taking responsibility of everything going on the field.
one of the times they niners had a fourth and one , and they show him talking to his OC(i think) on the headphones, and told him to go for it and made sure the entire team know he was going for it and they have his trust.

you see every head coach talking and conversing with his players in the sidelines, you never see Mangin do it , all we see him chweing his gum and that look on his face , from that look on his face you can see that he is thinking that he had the best game plan and did everything he can and the players are fucking up , so far from reality

Has anyone noticed that BF never said anything about Manboobs naming his kid after him? Or that Rodney Harrison never said anything about having Manboobs first kid named after him? Manboobs tries to tag along with the cool kids, but he's still a dork.

I'm glad someone else said it. I've always thought that was a little weird.

That's the nicest way to put it.

I've never seen Mangini, in a game, doing any actual COACHING. You'd think in 3 years of watching every snap this team has played under him, we'd have seen our head coach, well, coach....

    Sad, very sad

I actually did see him talk in the headset. Especially after that terrible lateral on the kickoff by Smith.

Why Chew and Walk at the same time when you can replace the gum chewer with the walker when the situation calls for it.

It's a crappy habit. He should take up smoking and fire down a pack of Luckys each game.

He chews gum better than any other coach on the Jets...

20 years from now I'm going to watch the Sopranos with my boys and they'll ask me, "Dad, why did Tony call that guy 'Mangenius?'" My response will of course be "I don't know boys, I don't know."

You guys just don’t get it. There is a gameplan. We don’t know what it is, but trust me…..there is a gameplan. Eric always talks about it in his post-game press conference.

“We set up a gameplan, and then we practice it and work on things that need to be executed once we get on the field.”

So if we don’t win, then it HAS to be the players’ fault. It HAS to be because they didn’t execute the gameplan. There is no need to change the gameplan. There is no need for any adjustments. You don’t have to adjust anything. All you have to do is execute the gameplan. There is no reason for the coaching staff to even do anything. When you think about it…….we really don’t even need to “play” the game of football. All that needs to be done is execute the gameplan. The gameplan is the strategy for success. Once you execute the gameplan effectively, then we will win. Once we win, we will have success.

Such is the coaching philosophy of one Eric Mangini.

Have you noticed that when we are winning (if you can remeber those days, I know they were a couple weeks back and all) that it didn't matter what Mangini did, chew gum, stand motionless, or take a dump on the sideline - no one cared. Now we've all been lowered to counting the number of times he blinks after a bad play. But to what end?

I know that he likes to review film- in every press conference he always makes one remark that he'll "Need to go over the film," so you can't say that the guy is completely useless.

Every coach in the league uses that one, and has since they invented 'film".

Me too! That's what coaches do! I credit him for that. And the 49ers should give him a big fat contract.

Theres a hidden message in that gum chewing. 1 chew its a draw 2 chews its short pass. Come on get with the program.
