The Jets were very fortuneate to have Mare miss that field goal. They played well the first 3 quarters but to let up 199 yards from Joey Harrington, jeez. Lets celebrate this win, but that was close call.

Played well for 3 quarters heh.

Jets and Fins played horrible for 2 quarters.
    Jets played well for 1.
    Dolphins played well for 1.

Thank god we pulled it out in the end.

Isn't the 3-4 supposed to apply pressure? God damn this team gets NO pressure!

What matters is we got a win.

however our pass rush is horrible. The prevent defense almost cost us the game.

3-3 isnt bad! Lets take down detroit and cleveland

i didnt look very closely but i think we were in a 4-3 at the end. but yes we defintly need to upgrade the pass rushing spot.

Difference was 4th Down and 1 FG early in third qtr. Mangini learned his lesson from Indy screw up. Looks like he's a quick study.

    Great point.

And Saban should have taken notes when he went for it on fourth down in the first half and didn't make it. You can argue the jets run d wasn't showing enough to scare off a 4th-down attempt by Miami, but this game was going to be a low-scoring game and points were at a premium.

Why do we continue to stop playing defense when we are holding a lead in the fourth quarter. Against any decent team we are gonna keep getting burned (the colts game for example).

Dodged a bullet. That is exactly what I said when the ball just fell short on that field goal. I hold my breath every time our defense is taking the field trying to defend a lead with less than 2 min in the game. And I don't hold it long, not because they stop them early, but because teams seem to drive effortlessly downfield against us. It's almost like the feeling of having John Hall kick for us again.

When you win it counts as a 100% win.

When you lose, it counts as a 100% loss.

Just like there is no moral victories, there are no moral losses.

Plain and simple, this prevent defense in the 4Q is killing us. You can't continue to not pass rush in obvious passing situations. You can't have corners playing 3 yards off their man.

We made Joey Harrington look like John Elway in the fourth today. That's about as inexcusable as it gets.

This is not a moral victory vs moral loss. This is proof that this team cannot finish. If we have this many problems shutting down the Fins, there's no way we beat team with playoff ability.

I don't even want to see what happens when we play Chicago.

what he ^ said....too much of a cushion on those receivers, and this combined with lousy pass rush is dangerous

We actually blitzed more in the th quarter than the previous 3, but didn't generate any pressure. We would ahve been better off playing our nickel package all the way and not blitzing. BTW--Drew Coleman sucked in the 4th quarter was definitely the weak link.

Just got back from the game, lost my voice in Sect 112 yelling

    "Laces In"

Luckily we won, it would have sucked really bad if we blew it, I really hate the ride home after a loss:wink: the Dolphins are forever cursed by the fake spike play:up:
