Chicago (especially) and San Fran are most likely not going to be going after a QB. Denver and Miami give him a better shot? Id like to know what you are smoking.

    Chicago and Denver would not.

    SF and Miami would.

The reason is that Peyton Manning does not play all that well in cold weather. He really does not play well in it.

So SF and Miami give him the potential to get the 1st seed and not play a game below 40 degrees in the playoffs.

NY, Chicago and Denver do not.

Did you watch the Jets defense last season? Old, slow, soft and unable to make a key stop if their life depended on it.

And what about the Jets swiss cheese OLine? Think for one minute Manning wants to play behind that?

That's about the only thing I've agreed with what you've said lately.

Anything is possible but with all the moves around Indy, i cant see them even bringing back Peyton even if he is healthy since they think they have the next Peyton available at #1 in the draft 13 years younger. The writing is on the wall that its over for Peyton in Indy. The high signing bonus is also something you wouldnt think they would take up. I would like to know when they expect his injury to heal fully. It seems that no one really knows that and it might just be person to person on that kind of injury. Another question would be, has anyone in the NFL had that exact same injury and came back and played well?

No, DID YOU watch the Jets this year? You are only as good as your weakest link. Hunter is the worst RT in all of football in case you havent noticed. The Jets have 3 pro bowlers on their line as well. You cant expect Brick to play as bad next year as he did this year. For all the hate on the defense, how did they manage so well in rankings vs the other defenses then if they are so bad? But hey, dont let the numbers get in the way or anything....Plus, they play the high powered Pats offense 2x a year which would make any defenses numbers drop.

People saying Sanchez can sit behind Manning are crazy. This kid has won 4 playoff games in 3 years. Been to 2 AFC Title Games. Had his best statistical season in 2011. Has a career record of 31-22 including playoffs. I am not saying any of that is enough of an argument to start over Manning, you just can't expect him to be a back up after that. He will have to be traded or more likely released if the Jets sign Manning.

You just don't give up your franchise player if he's healthy and ready to go and you think he can play at that level.

The Packers kept Favre for three seasons after they drafted Aaron Rodgers and only pushed him out the door when they were certain Rodgers was ready to go.

The Chargers kept Drew Brees for two seasons after they acquired Philip Rivers and only let Brees go when injury AND Rivers development convinced them it was the right move.

If Peyton was healthy the Colts would be keeping him and letting Luck sit behind him for at least one season. History strongly suggests that letting a QB get a year on the bench is the best way to get him up to NFL speed and give him the best chance for success.

You do that and you avoid the rookie season pitfalls that color the perceptions of his career for quite a long time.

The top 5 NFL QB's right now are Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Roethlisberger and Rivers. All but Roethlisberger got to sit for a season at the start of their career and Big Ben got put in early due to an injury.

Even if Peyton Manning comes back the numbers still strongly suggest that sitting for a season helps a QB excel.

In 5 years this may get flipped on its head because of all the young guys who are starting right away. There's a fad that a lot of teams are picking up on to start guys immediately and see what happens.

Right now the tea leaves suggest that it will still be a mixed bag. Obviously Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, Matthew Stafford and company will have a lot to say about that.

I probably wouldnt brag about any statistical upgrades other than his TD passes maybe because they were so small. I do think there is no way he could back up Peyton from a money stand point as well. There are a few teams who may trade a 3rd or 4th rounder for him too. I dont see the two co-existing either. There will be bad blood with the team and Sanchez if Peyton is brought in here. He wants to start somewhere and there are a few teams out there who could use him/

More interesting that according to ESPN yesterday neither of those teams have any interest in him. (of course Detroit had no interest in Prince Fielder either)

IF he gets cut and IF he is healthy it will probably come down to the Jets and Miami and for every fool on this board that don't want him be careful what you wish for.

Yeah, but with all the changes happening in Indy would suggest that is the direction they are going to go. Peyton has been the face of that franchise and he doesnt even recognize many people there. If they still wanted to bring Peyton back, why would they be making so many changes and would Peyton be publicly talking out about his team and the atmosphere? I dont think Favre was owed a huge 20+ mill bonus either. There is just alot of factors to take into the equation. I also read somewhere that Luck doesn't want to play somewhere where he will sit. He wants to play immediately. Sure, the best situation would be to sit for a year or two but everyone is saying Luck is as sure of a bet to be a future elite QB as there ever was according to many scouts so we'll see...

That is laughable. Your credibility is shot. Did you watch the two playoff games with his deep throws??? Did you watch him vs. the Jets with his deep throws???

He threw a couple of bad ones in the playoffs but he usually throws a great deep ball.

He had a QB rating of 119.8 with passes thrown 40+ yards in the air this year. In 3 of his 4 seasons his QB rating for 40+ yard passes was over 100.

    Excuse me...

"Allowed them"? Did the Jets have to get Mark's permission to win games now?

They won in spite of him?

    Really?

    95 out of 157 passes(60.5% completion rate)
    1155 Yards Passing
    9 Touchdowns 3 Picks
    QB Rating of 94.3

Doesn't seem like they won in spite of him to me. He made the big throws when he was called upon in a RUN-FIRST Offense. (at least that's what it was supposed to be until we recently discovered that Schitty tried installing a Hybrid. That idiot)

And whether Jackson could've done similar or not is irrelevant 'cause he's not a NY Jet. Mark Sanchez is.

Omg! Stop it! You're killing me here! [IMG]

Leaf would end up running into the stands and punching out a fan instead....lol.

And while Stafford is a better QB than Mark(I never disputed THAT), this is a RESULTS-ORIENTED LEAGUE. Wins and Losses. That's what it comes down to.

You can have a billion yards passing and a high number of TDs or whatever as a QB but if you can't win games WHEN THEY MATTER(Postseason games), then what good a QB are you?

And where in the world did you come to the conclusion that I said that Mark is a 2nd Tier QB? Are you hearing voices in your head or something?

In College, QBs can make all the mistakes(and learn from them) without having the type of scrutiny they'd get if they occured on an NFL team in the NFL. Just my opinion, Of course...

Mark's had to basically learn on the job from day one and go through the QB growing pains under the intense scrutiny(and whining) from the media and Jets fans alike.

Don't get me wrong, LJTF. I do get what you're saying but I'm not going to discount that Mark was basically thrown into the fire here whereas how it usually works is the rook sits for a few years watching and learning from the Vet(starter) who is QB.

You don't think the 49ers would be a player in there? And why would the Cowboys give up on Romo like that? lol This post is almost comical.

The defense giving up 17 points before the fumble I know you're gonna refer to don't count?
