They were pit bulls. That breed is owned by trashy people. All I know is that if my neighbor had a pit bull and I had a kid, I would want Vick right here to take care of business.

Again, why you are an ignorant asshat. I'd say "google" them, but you couldn't spell it.

Please keep posting though. You are fun.

Sorry, I was finishing up my homework.

Well, I am not going to change your mind. I can't change the mind of the brainless. Go ahead and play with your vicious pit bulls. I think Vick was punished too severely. Murders and rapists lose much less. I didn't want Vick on this team because of his age and injuries, but I must admit, it would be fun to watch guys like you struggle with your fandom. I honestly wouldn't be opposed to Vick coming to the Jets. While you sit on your ass all day, Vick is actually helping out the community. People do change, you know? It's been 7 years. Do you still hold a grudge on your 5th grade teacher for giving you detention? Would suck to be such an unforgiving person, even though you don't even know Vick and he didn't do a thing to you.

This is a rarity. Most pit bull owners are pure trash.

I agree. All pit bulls should be euthanized. They are a danger to everyone around them....

Depends n how there raised. They are intimidating dogs, but I met some in dog park and there gentile as can be. I got a hyper dog who loves to wrestle and play. Pit bulls that are well trained are extremely smart and play to his level and never even accidentally hurt my dog, despite the fact there so much more powerful. I think there great dogs. All depends on the owner

Can't believe it but I am finally agreeing with one of your posts.

How anyone can equate ownership of a beautiful but misunderstood breed of dog as trashy is just incredibly over the top ignorant.

Geezuz what is wrong with some people?

Why is it one or the other? That's like asking if someone is male or a computer programmer.

As for the morality issue, I will state my POV plainly: I want to win but I do not want to win at any cost. I suppose for some people that means I am not a "real" fan. I suppose if that means I'm not a "real" fan does that mean that those "true" fans aren't humane or ethical? Or even human for that matter? Is your fandom such a large part of your identity that everything else is secondary?

I think the most telling thing in this thread is that even if you discount the issues of morality surrounding Vick he would still be a hard sell. He isn't a long term starting solution and he is likely not a short term one either. Is he a mentor or backup? If not then he is worthless anyway. That's what I'm getting out of the discussion here. The defenses of Vick's actions, otoh, are just sad. From an academic standpoint I get why people are defending him, but I think the ramifications of his actions have not really dawned on most people. Either that or we are so far down the road that all actions are relative that anything can be justified. If that is the case then I cringe for the day some of you pine for some NFL team to sign a child rapist/murderer.

Yea, I feel bad. Not my intention at all, although I had a feeling it could go this way. I was sort of hoping we could discuss without it devolving into this. Just tells you the sort of naive SOB I am.....

Let me try to put this thread back on track: for the people defending Vick (and those who are against him as well) are there any good football reasons to bring him in? I think e most he has to offer is as a mentor to Geno. Here's the catch: do we really want Geno to be turned into Vick? And no, I'm not making a subtle personal dig at Vick, I mean strictly as a QB. Vick has never had great completion rating, he gets by on his athleticism (kinda like Cro now that I think about that). So what about his skill set can be "mentored"?

no, the ones you see on the news are trash, most pbt owners are regular people like me. we don't make the news because we are responsible pet owners.
now as far as the breed goes, the only reasons pitbulls are used to fight is they are the perfect mix of power speed and size. thats it. there is nothing gentically inherent that makes them more aggressive than any other breed out there.
sorry the thread got hijacked everyone.
    i am done here

    http://overthecap.com/freeagents.php?Position=QB&Year=2015

How many players on this list of 2015 free agent quarterbacks aren't "terrible?" Alex Smith, Cam Newton, and Colin Kaepernick, but they are all very likely to re-sign with their teams. After that it's Andy Dalton, Jake Locker, Matt Moore, and maybe Ryan Mallett? Decent players to be sure, but it's not like Sanchez is totally incomparable to those guys. There's 31 other teams, and all it takes is one of them to want to push their incumbent starter with some competition or one of them to need a stopgap while they wait for their QB of the future for a team to think trading for Sanchez is a good idea. Even Blaine Gabbert and his styrofoam thumb yielded a 6th round pick for the Jaguars this off-season.

How long do you think it takes to sign him?? Decker was with us for more than a day before signing...
