the term franchise qb says it all. there is no way gatorade boy, clemens, will even see the playing field and will be lucky to be even the #2 qb like last year. chad has no competition and will start all games and lead us to the playoffs as he is capable of doing.

i disagree.the jets cannot complete the 12-15 yd out with cp at the helm.i do not expect this to chnge in this coming training camp.what i do expect is for the jets to complete the improvements to the running game by drafting another blue chip prospect for the ol.a road-gradin guard or rt.if kellen clemens can show as much as j cutler showed for denver by the end of camp then chad is done.and the jets o will be just as,or close to being as productive with the POTENTIAL of being much better.i do NOT hate chad p, in fact i think he is one of the best qb's in the league from the neck down.unfortunately he throws the weakest ball in the entire league, bar none.many like to say that dilfer and johnson won sb's and they were jags.nobody ever mentions that both those guys could complete the 12-15 yd out which gave each offense the diversity it needed to be a comlete offense which forced d coordinators to respect the ENTIRE field.there is only one way to get that respect and even us fans are already aware of cutlers ability to get the ball down the field in an explosive way.sadly,i do not believe cha will ever be able to do that .....it's time to move on

i can understand that cutler's performance as a qb last season was good but i would assume that either a qb or rb could excell behind that ol that denver has, even made plummer look good. plus i rate the titans and redskin rookie qbs having better performances than cutler's. i like the idea of bringing in playmakers on offense whom are rookie but clemens does'nt even fit in the catagory as been a playmaker. with the new balance in our rb game, praying, look for chad to throw down the field alot more this season, i would'nt count him out at all.

I don't understand why there is so much negativity about Clemens on here. He was a rookie last year and hardly saw the field. This is typical of NFL rookie QB's. What has he done to turn so many people off??

Please allow me to put that in context. I was not agreeing with the poster above but commenting that I hope Chad playes the whole season. I only want to see KC in Preseason, mopup duty in a blowout, or last game of the regualr season if we have locked up a playoff spot. Other than that I do not want to see KC.

From my point of view the thing that turned me off the most to him was that he couldn't beat out Ramsey for the #2 job except for one game last season. Patrick Ramsey is a pretty bad QB at this point and for a young guy with a young first year coach not to be able to come in and beat him out says something. This wasn't Herm with his vets forever attitude. Some young guys played fairly large roles on the Jets last year and Clemens was holding the clipboard all season.

Now it's possible that the plan was for him not to get anywhere near the field last season and the Jets just adhered to that view rigidly. I guess I could see that. We'll get a better feel for what's going on this season as the competition in camp sorts out Clemens and Tuiasosopo. He better beat out Tuiasosopo for #2.
