I said no doubt, and i really mean it...Are defense is better than they have right now, and if sanchez plays like that again, than why cant we win?
this is the best i've felt about us beating the pats in a long time..... like i said in another thread....because we beat them last year in foxboro, the loss of alot of their key players and rex's fearless attitude he's enstilled...the jets aren't intimidated anymore. that said...the pats can beat anyone at any time if they're kicking on all gears, but i'm pretty confident that we can pull this one off
If you don't think 26 for 31 and two touchdowns in the second half when he needed to pull out a tough game was vintage Brady then you are whistling past the graveyard.
i went with "i think they will" but its more hope than think. in my FF league i have brady and sanchez. i'm thinking of doing something crazy and starting sanchez. but that's the hope more than think part mentioned above.
Your in denial, even when he retires he'll still be the best too. He didn't look like the Brady of old, that pick was horrible. The guy was running at him and he got scared shat himself and through it to him so he wouldn't get hurt. That's the new Brady, Vintage Brady would've hung in there and took the hit. Are you jealous of Gisele?
They certainly can win. The Pats didn't look all that good against a very bad Buffalo team. The run defense for NE is very questionable. The pass rush is weak with the loss of Seymour. Buffalo was sporting 3 guys who hadn't played a down of meaningful NFL football, and they held NE's pass rush in check. Our line should dominate them. As for their offense, I have every reason to believe that Brady will be taking 3 step drops all game, and just getting rid of the ball. If they take any more than that, our band of lunatics will have Brady on his back more than a hooker at a concrete convention. I also feel very confident that Revis can shut Moss down. They also don't scare me one bit with their running game. It looked bad last night. No, the Jets can very easily win this game, as long as Sanchez can avoid rookie mistakes.
hahaha....I'm pretty sure after the Jets take care of business next Sunday...your tenure on this board will be the only thing that's through
I voted I wouldn't bet on it. I'm expecting a really close game, but they have our fucking number @ The Meadowlands. One could easily make a case for why both teams will win this game... it'll probably come down to turnovers.
I am nervous about our aggressive scheme versus a great like Tom Brady, but I think this year we have a better chance than ever to really stick it to the Pats. I think our secondary depth is going to be key to defeating their spread scheme, and I think their lack of a standout running back is going to make that their only option. On defense, I don't think they have an answer for our running game with Mayo probably out and Seymour gone. I am approaching this game more optimistically than most Jets-Pats matchups, but it wouldn't surprise me if we got our asses handed to us either. -X-
If the same jets team that played in Houston comes out of the tunnel,we have a damn good chance. The one key thing that any team having success against the Pats is getting to Brady. Constantly! sack, hurry, knock down, just never let him get comfortable. Give him time and i dont care who and how many you have in coverage,he'll pick you apart.
I wouldn't bet on it. As a matter of fact I don't think we'll cover which is why I'm not taking the points. That being said if the Jets do get beat by two touchdowns, the next week of people coming on here declaring the team a fraud and calling for Ryan's head is going to be insane. Do I think the Jets can win? Hell yeah especially fresh off of dominating a good offensive team. But Matt Shaub really had nowhere to go after Andre Johnson, the Pats just have a lot of weapons. Brady can go to Welker, Faulk out of the backfield, Watson up the seam and even Galloway while Revis is playing on Moss. A big key to the game is the Jets generating a pass rush early and knocking Brady on his ass. Tom Terrific isn't above getting flustered. Jets can win. I just wouldn't bet on it.
The Jets defense will turn up the heat on Brady. Sanchez might stubble a bit, but I stay say Jets win in a close one.
Who knows what Mangini's daddy has up his sleeve. What the hell, my uneducated guess... I'm thinking Camcorder Bill will try to stuff-the-run on 1st (and 2nd) and force the Jets into 3rd-and-8 and from there: From there (minus Seymour) overload the pass rush source (either strong side or weak side) in order to "flush" Sanchez and force him to roll-out and in doing so, roll NE's coverage giving Sanchez only one half of the field to work with with his limited receiver corp .... let alone making him (despite his good 'in-the-pocket' footwork) to having to throw on the run. Example: when the Jets ran TE Justin Keller up the right sideline against Houston......Camcorder Bill dropping Brandon Merriweather (played a good game last night) along with a nickle back to double Kellen. From there, the WR's being doubled on the strong 'roll out' side with combo LB/nickle and occassional nickle and "drop back" DE (short, flat routes). Long story short: recognizing Sanchez' good footwork and maybe trying to get him out of his comfort zone by making him throw on the run....getting him to "leave-the-pocket" and force the kid to one side of the field to work with....with a lurking backside LB sliding into the passing lanes. i.e. "never throw 'late' into the middle" RX: hammer-the-run game. Again (jmho) the OL will decide much.
I believe so. I've been saying it all offseason the Jets will surprise people. This is a game that will show people early. This will be a heck of a game, but I think Brady still has some rust to work off and the Jets will capitalize on it.
He was able to shake the cobwebs out in the second half because they made adjustments and slowed down the pressure he faced in the first half. Whatever they did as far as blocking goes it allowed Giselle's much worse half, to step up and deliver the ball. That, and Moss having his complete way with the Bills secondary. And man, I hate Faulk on 3rd down. Having said that, we have a HC that will adjust at the half, unlike Mandoofus that was determined to run 'his' game plan no matter what...
