most of us said the same things last year.....and we went out and laid an egg 19-10. so history is not on our side but its gotta change at some point.... if i was a betting man i would expect a jets win and then a big letdown against the titans the follwing week. jil
I voted 'Yes, I have no doubt.' Do I think the Jets can lose this game? Sure. But I don't really care. Fuck the Pats, fuck their fans, fuck Bob Kraft and his replacement Super Bowel ring. Fuck Foxboro, fuck Pat the Patriot, fuck Ernie Adams and most of all fuck that smug HC son-of-a-cunt. I want everyone in that stadium to know that, without a doubt, we're going to take those smarmy half-smiles whenever they are asked about the Jets and shove them straight up their asses all day long on Sunday. We will win this game. Believe it.
Do you honestly belive it? I try to convince myself a lot too, and I want to honestly believe it after last week, but being a jet fan....you know the rest.
I am very confident in our team. YES, i think we'll win. The key is for Sanchez to realize the mistakes he made in game 1 and not make too many of the same in this game. No way the PATS let him off the hook the way the Texans did dropping those few balls.
You bet your goddamn guitars strings on it, buddy. Yeah, being a Jet fan, we have a tendency to take the pussy route and think we're going to lose and give up on the team - why? Because the team has given up on us many times. This team under Rex Ryan is not going to give up. I have seen too much already to even think that they'll lay down like they did with Rah Rah Herm and Mangini the Grimace. Rex will attack all day long and the team loves it. What we need is for the fans to believe it. SOJs isn't the Jets, it's a psychosis that the fans believe in. Time to believe in something else.
He'll definitely benefit from facing a pretty young defensive unit. There's a lot of things the vets key in on that they younger guys will miss, so it's definitely going to help.
God I've told myself something similar a million times! The SOJ thing is old, for sure. Fookin' Herm was confused...Mangini was too conservative....if anyone Rex. Attack is the only thing we haven't tried yet and that shit is genuine too! I love the Band of Lunatics title haha :metal:
This is just a loaded question. Where's the "I think the Jets have a good chance to win" option? The situation is exactly like last week, only at a higher volume. The team that pressures the QB effectively is going to win, and if the Jets can get the running game going they have an excellent chance outside of that.
What kitchen sink? They retired, traded or released all of the plumbing and now it is clogged with Mayo out.
The truth is, we all know what's been said earlier in the thread... that this looks like the most winnable game against the Pats since Brady became their QB... but very few are willing to just outright say it because it's still New England. Excellent post earlier by Abyzmal who was right on the money... this isn't the same ol Jets. These Jets are going to get the job done. These Jets are going to KILL!!!!!!!!!! (keep it likable and learn-able)
I honestly think we will win this game. Our running game will pose a problem, that will get whatever BB throws at Sanchez out of the way early. I just see Sanchez doing what he did last week again. Hitting multiple targets and Keller is lined up for a big game. The Bills ran it down their throat and we will do the same. The defense better get to him early and very often to disrupt any rhythm he thinks he's going to get in. Revis will smother Moss and when Welker comes running across the middle he's going to get hit hard and regret it. I hope they win, that's for sure.
Shitty teams loose back to back games. The patriots win last night leave either a sense of urgency that will propel them this coming week or makes them ripe for the taking. I'm betting on the latter. They looked terrible defending the run ; we have one. They looked horrible in space ; we have the guys to fly threw the open spaces. Brady was knocked around and we can do that as well! I'm thinking no doubt! Lets start a new Culture of Jets football!
The time to stop being scared of the Patriots is now. If this team and their fans believe they can beat the Patriots, it will show on the football field on Sunday. You have to keep a "These assholes are not scoring in our house" mentality otherwise, we're back to being the same ol' Jets. This is a new regime. A new era. Join in or get left behind. I'm sure Mangini is looking for a few fans to follow him to Cleveland. The land where they don't want to step on the oppositions toes. If you don't wanna rile up the opposition, and honestly believe you can win every damn game, then this Jets team isn't for you.
It's all on which offensive line shows up for the Patriots. Last night they looked really bad a lot of the time, especially against the edge rushers. After the first quarter the running game was also non-existent. If they play poorly next week and the Jets can get make sure Brady has no time, they have a very good chance. If he has time to sit back all day and choose between bombs to Moss and underneath routes to Welker they will score a million points and keeping up with them will be really difficult. Offensively whether or not Mayo plays will be huge. If he is in he should be able to shut down Washington, otherwise they could once again get burned over and over on screen passes to him. Sanchez looked good last week against Houston but if he has to play from behind early it might get ugly.
This defense has me beliving so far. The Kid gets a big test from a defensive master mind as so it could be a rough game, but I gotta belive. :metal:
