Get blaylock the hell out of here, he is not a good RB at all. He is below average to average. I would love to see Houston and Washington work together more this season then blaylock. CUT HIM

I was never to high on Blaylock, even when he was with the Chiefs and I think that Leon Washington needs those carries right now more than Blaylock does. Blaylock's future is in question, where Leon might be a contributer over the next few years, and I think he needs all the snaps he can get behind CMart.

Will see what happens, training camp is still two months away and each of these players including martin has to prove that he will be an asset for this team in 2006. This isn't going to be like the old Herm regime where the veteran making the most money gets the playing time.

I don't believe you are totally correct with your statement. If he is cut after 6/1 I believe you would have 1 point something million in dead cap space next year. Same thing....

    -----------EDIT----------

Okay, I just found Jetsin2004 website, check it out...

    http://www.wissearch.net/jets/default.aspx

If I read it correctly the 1,225,000 you quote is his cap hit this year not his salary. If he is cut after 6/1 it costs us 1.9 on the cap next year. Maybe someone can clarify if I am wrong....

    Another nice site  .
The numbers are pretty close, but they are not showing you what the dead money would be next year by cutting him after 6/1 this year. I think that is where our differences are. Who knows, I hate following these cap ramifications....

Not sure how you rank 'good', but Blaylock did have a game where he ran for over 100 yards and scored 4 TD's playing only in the 2nd half. He has some talent. With that said, cut him. Washington has more upside and would be buried on the depth chart with Blaylock here.

Since Blaylock costs more to cut than keep, I think we'll see him stick around this year at least. It's worth keeping him around, especially because I'm not convinced Curtis will make it through the entire year healthy.

Put it this way, having Blaylock as the 3rd or 4th RB on the roster (since we obviously have no cap issues this year) makes me feel way more secure than having Terry Butler instead.

But then again he was injured for most of the season last year. I would like the Jets to cut him but they do need a vetern RB cause Curtis wont be around much longer so they may keep and he may get a handful or carries but it all depends on training camp.

Because the cap hit gets split between this year and next year after June 1, he actually costs less to cut.

We have CMart, who I think is done but will play. Houston is a good 3rd down back, and Washington may be something special, cut blaylock. Next year it should be Washington/Houston combo.

Maybe Blaylock isn't as good as the KC line made him look, but I'm not ready to call him a bust yet. I remember before this season they also praised his abilities on special teams. Also lets see how healthy Houston is come training camp (did have the car accident).

He will make it to camp and if he shows promise will make the team. The rb position is a little unclear right now

I would like to see if the young guys can handle the rigors of learning a new nfl system before sending blaylock on his way. I'm not 100 % sure we can go w/o him.

we did last yr, we either find out what houston and washington can offer, or we look to the draft.

blaylock is obviously not the answer
