If upstairs thinks Petty has a future they will mandate he start. There is no other way to look at it. The rest of the season has to be about finding out about him. I think we have seen the last of Fitz.
While that should be the case, it isn't necessarily. Mac has no power over Bowles, so he can't mandate anything. Only Woody can, and Woody may pick this time not to interfere/meddle, or he may side with Bowles' way of thinking because he doesn't understand anything about football.

you can say its not his fault as he is caught on the backside. But if you look at the play, moments before he can see his would be tackler battling and about to break free. He then turns to his right and hangs onto the ball way too long. His pocket awareness was terrible.
Fitz was decent today but it doesn't matter anymore now that we have 8 losses We should be in find out what you got/tank mode when it's clear as day that Fitz doesn't have a future here Playing Fitz at all going forward makes zero sense for the Jets as a franchise...people aren't tuning in or going to games to see Fitz either so I can't think of one good reason to not see what Petty's got. If Bowles is truly that scared and wants to pad his resume with an extra win or two with fitz back there then just fire the guy now or give him next season now. I agree the problem simply is Mac and Bowles are afraid if they start Petty the odds of going 3 and 13 or 4 and 12 increase quite a bit. A 3 or 4 win season endangers their jobs for 2017. To make the youth movement Woody has to be involved to reassure the FO.
