The economics of our Sanchez situation says he will most likely be back, as least in training camp with another QB vying for the starting job. We owe Mark $8M+ even if we cut him or trade him. Our only hope for getting rid of Mark is to find a trade partner willing to eat at least 'some' of his guaranteed 2013 salary. But after watching him last night on a national stage, I can't see too many teams lining up to fight over him. My guess is he's back next year and allowed to compete for the starting job, but very well might lose out and be named the back up, at least for 2013. If that's good enough to keep Braylon, that's great. Bray looked real good last night. I like that one pass where he fought 5 defenders for an extra yard...he looked so big compared to those DB's!
Yes. He showed a lot of Heart coming off the street with his play last night. And his comments about the management of this team was dead on. Sign the beast.
Yes. you now have the #1, #2, and #3 recievers. Let hill be the deep threat while still learning the rout tree. Bray Bray is 10X the reciver of Chip Shittens
seeing this just makes me sick. We bring him in late in the season knowing he worked well with Sanchez in the past and then have him start in a game in which the JETS are eliminated from the playoffs. Sanchez is gone after this season and keeping Edwards, his favorite target would be a bit weird IMO (at least for now). The point I thought was that so they can grow together again but this will not be the case.
There are 8 Million reasons Sanchez will be connecting with Braylon in 2013, I actully think the cap hit is somewhere around 12 if he is out-righted...could be wrong though.
Holmes, Braylon, Kerley, and Hill is not an awful receiving corps. I dont think Keller will be resigned so a new TE to go with Cumberland would be nice. A new RB to replace Greene who I hope will be gone would be nice as well as O line help at the guard position.
Let's see how he plays in the next two games, but I'm leaning toward yes now. I don't think a one year deal would cost more than a million dollars... However, I wouldn't mind seeing an additional option at WR added in the middle rounds of the draft or in free agency.
I always liked Edwards and his ability and his fit in Rex's scheme. But we are going to need that money to sign a QB.
I definitely want to see Braylon back with the Jets. I think they can sign him for a reasonable amount. Edwards knows this is where he's had his greatest success and he doesn't want to wreck a return option with the same huge contract demands that foiled him two seasons ago.
Bring him back. At least we have two lower tier #1 WRs with Edwards and Holmes in next year vs having Holmes with Kerley, Hill and other cheap garbage we sign.
No doubt about it, he should stay. At the price we are going to be able to sign him for its a no brainer. It's not like this team is stacked with talent at the WR position.
I can't see him asking for any more than the vet minimum. I'd definitely bring him back as a supportive rotation to Hill (which I wanted done this year).
Never understood why we didn't go after him THIS offseason. I thought he was just as good, if not better than Holmes when both were here. Obviously, there's something more to this than his production on the field, whether it's off-field stuff or injuries. That should cause him to come cheap. I'd love to bring him back on a small deal. However, with Hill, Holmes and Kerley all likely coming back, there may not be room at the inn. Unless they can find a taker for Santonio...
Hell yes! It was fun watching him in a Jets uniform again. Not that I enjoyed the game, but silver lining.
