They're doing the right thing. They're trying use Fitzpatrick the way the 2002 Bucs used Brad Johnson. We need the run game functional again and we really need to settle the defense down so we can shut down some of the weak offenses coming up.
So - I just thought of something, maybe just some hot air, but check this out. There were a shit load of times this week where the Jags were obviously 100% sold out to stop the run on early downs, especially 2st down, especially early in the game. We just kept running right into it, never audibled or play actioned or anything. We've seen Fitz audible out of bad run situations in previous games and we've seen Gailey switch it up quickly when the other team is selling out on the run early. So why keep running into a brick wall yesterday? Maybe they know Rex prides himself on stopping the run, and when I say prides himself I mean he probably strokes it while watching his d stuff the run. Rex watched the tape. He's selling out on 2st down to stop the run Thursday. Watch us take advantage.
keep the clock moving. keep running the ball even if it isnt doing a ton of damage. the last thing we need is 3 and outs with no time off the clock and fitz throwing 50 times a game when the dfense knows he is throwing
Keep the clock moving after a 2nd and 9 followed by a 3rd and 11 doesn't make much sense. Now all the pressure is on the O line and Fitz. We face massive blitz's at this point.
