Yes they slow down in the playoffs. They have lost there last 3 playoff games. All of which have been at home.

I missed some parts of the game, but I can think of a couple more... Special teams play was pretty bad IMO... a botched PAT, missed tackles on kickoffs, Edelman never made it past the first potential tackler in his returns, our backup kicker put one out of bounds (not like this one really matters)... nothing really to impress besides Slater's tackle and two decent range FGs by Gostkowski. Darius Butler doesn't really look improved from what I noticed. Woodhead also fumbled, btw.
First game of the preseason is the lousiest gauge of any team. If any preseason game is going to show anything it would be the 3rd or 4th. Anyway, it means nothing until the real games begin. Heck, Brady didn't even play and the Pats destroyed Jacksonville that badly. I doubt it would have been the same in a regular season game if that was the case.

As a Pats fan, I'd be a little disappointed that the Patriots "vaunted" defense (albeit without Haynesworth) couldn't exactly make Blaine Gabbert look bad.
