Julius Thomas was, he barely played but Denver knew he had tremendous ability. even w/o Thomas and the overrated Welker they had elite talent. Seattle has a much better D and a QB who doesn't wilt in big games.
Peyton should have evaluated the team as a whole, he took the Denver defense over the Seattle defense. Am I right or am I right? Outside of QB Seattle has a superior team and despite the QB difference, Seattle has still done just as much as Denver has done over the last two seasons.
He saw Denver's D play incredible football down the stretch in 2011, saw a young Von Miller to build around. Den w/ tebow has done as much as Den w/ Manning too, each won 1 playoff game.
LMAO your disrespecting Peyton. "He saw Denver's D play incredible" Peyton of all people would have realized that the Broncos defense was garbage, the fact is Elway convinced him that it would get fixed (which it hasn't). HELL I realized that the Broncos defense was garbage and I was not even surprised whatsoever when this happened: Why wasnt I surprised? BECAUSE I watched them play and knew they were garbage, so when that garbage play happenned, it didnt have any "shock factor" because I expect garbage plays like that to happen to garbage defenses. Peyton didnt choose the best team, he choose the team that fit what he wanted: -Not in NFC -Not in AFC East -Could win the Super Bowl Yes the Broncos can win the Super Bowl, yes they are fully capable despite the defense, but he could have gone to a team like Seattle where the odds what have been much better and bull crap like Rahim Moore letting a guy get behind him would not have ever happened. If Peyton wins the Super Bowl his decision to go to Denver is validated, but say the 49ers or Seahawks win the Super Bowl WITHOUT even having the 5x MVP on the team, then Peyton will look like a complete fool. All I can say to Peyton is that the plane to Seattle was waiting in Denver for him but he never wanted anything to do with Seattle so he is going to have to live with it good or bad.
http://captaincomeback.wordpress.co...ing-is-better-than-brady-but-so-what-edition/ One of the great myths (perpetuated by geeks on ESPN, talk radio and all over the internet by many people, including probably more than 1,000 posts from one individual on this forum) gets destroyed.
The Broncos should rout the Pats today. It's a major mismatch and if it doesn't go that way there are certainly going to be unflattering comparisons made between Brady and Manning (again). If the Pats had an average NFL starter at QB this year they'd have gone 8-8 or so.
This, and honestly this Pats team is not that good. I give em credit for where they are but a combo of a weak AFC, a Bye week, and Andrew Luck sucking has gotten them into the championship game. If the Broncos lose they will look really bad, it would be inexcusable imo. The friggin Jets beat this Pats team at home, Broncos surely can.
Aside from the 11-5 Cassel year where they arguably assembled the greatest team of all time, that franchise would be a .500 team at best without Brady. I think Denver is going to win 27-17 and Seattle is going to win a blood bath 19-17
Another thing worth mentioning is the Pats went 4-4 on the road this season, the 4 road wins were against the Bills, Falcons, Texans, and Ravens. The 4 road losses were against the Panthers, Dolphins, Jets, and Bengals.
But they don't have an average starter, they seem to have gotten their run game going pretty well, their D is opportunistic and underrated and Manning absolutely sucks outdoors in cold weather. Plus Bellichek > Fox. As much as I hate those fucks, I see the Pats taking this one.
good thing it is going to be in the 50's then at game time. that is hardly cold weather by NFL standards.
I agree with Br4dw4y5ux, I anticipate the Broncos comfortably today. The Pats have gotten by all year in close games; sure their overall record is impressive but it is smoke and mirrors IMO. The Broncos are the better team and the Pats deficiencies should be their undoing today.
Their 4 losses came by 7 points or less. You're right, their record is deceiving. They could have gone undefeated. Having said that, 34-17 Broncos. Man, I hope I'm wrong.
only three of their 12 victories were overwhelming wins (Bucs, Steelers and Ravens), with 7 of their victories being by 7 points or less (and 5 of those close wins were against teams who finished .500 or worse). this is simply not a team that dominated this season and their record benefited by playing a pretty easy schedule that they struggled against. injuries and talent were certainly a factor, and those are the deficiencies that I don't think they overcome today.
The Broncos are the better team on paper but we all know how that goes. I think Denver takes the game but it's close going into the 4th quarter. I'll take Denver 34-24.
