2008 season: Steelers played NE in week 13 and the NFC East.
2009 season: Saints played NE week 12 and the NFC East.
2010 season: Packers played NE week 15, and the NFC East.
2011 season: Giants played AFC East and NFC East.

My bad I missed the NFC. You responded to person asking what the NE+NFC East streak meant saying so I thought you were responding to that, not mentioning an NFC streak

EDIT: Yeah that's definitely how I misread it. The guy asked what the NFC East + NE streak is and you mentioned the NFC SB team has played the AFC East. My bad again.

    Makes a good point

What does the Fox (Network) say? "Thank you for a guaranteed Peyton or Brady Super Bowl."

That should be a great ratings draw either way and they usually don't get PM and TB.

The top old style pocket passer (Peyton or Brady) against the top new style running QB (Kaepernick or Wilson). How will weather affect passing/running? Two of the coaches are controversial (Harbaugh, Belichick) and three have connections to the Jets and/or Giants (all but Harbaugh). The story writes itself.

I would love to see SF or SEA roll into NY (NJ) and beat the Broncos or Pats with some smash mouth football.

Well, San Diego just showed why you need to show up for more than just one quarter if you want to win a game. Pathetic showing by them the majority of the game.

NE hasn't had a road playoff game since 2006 AFC Champ. That's a long time for a team who makes playoff runs just about every year.

An ex-Jets head coach winning a SB in the Jets stadium would not bother you?

Right, neither SF or SEA played NE this season and NE obviously can't play themselves nor did they play the NFC East.

I'm obviously biased, but I don't understand how anyone can think Graham is a better tightend than Gronkowski. It's hilarious that Graham will probably get more money, too.

    Graham:
    62 games 3800 yards (61/gm) 12.8 ypc 41 td (.66/gm)

    Gronk:
    50 games 3255 yards (65/gm) 14.4 ypc 42td (.85/gm)

12 less games and still has more td's and is one of the better blocking TE's in the NFL. He doesn't need to come off the field to effectively run the ball making plays much more difficult to diagnose presnap. graham is just a wide receiver who plays close to the OL

edit: and Gronk is 3 years younger

I think they are both great, I think Gronk benefited from having Hernandez on the other side.

It really depends how much they get the players involved in the offense.

Staying on the field is an important consideration.

Yep. Then we would have no streaks deciding the SB winner I think.

I barely can remember Pete being coach. I'm a younger fan, so my memories are Peyton and Brady ruling the AFC for basically forever, the Jets having a shot at getting Peyton, and BB resigning in a really weird way. And a general dislike for the Broncos and Patriots.

I do like how its setup now though. Youth QBs on one hand and veterans in the other.

The league was secretly praying for this championship weekend. Ratings should be huge for both. Can't wait

This was how it was supposed to go down last year but 2 miracle plays happened in Atlanta and Denver, now we get the games this year.
