Game over, the NFL HQ throws a party.

SEA/SF and DEN/NE were probably their dream match ups

the reason San Diego was able to stay alive this long was because Mike McCoy went for it, unlike Chuck Pagano

As Simms noted, the final four (Denver, New England, Seattle, San Francisco) is probably just what would have been predicted before the season (with Houston and Atlanta the other popular choices).

Yeah. He understood they couldn't afford the punt.

Tough day for SD. Let up that 3rd and 17, then the 3rd and 1 to lose. Slipped on a FG, dropped an INT in the RZ against PM, scored 0 points off the gift fumble. Dropped passes by SD receivers.

Memo to the NFL: don't have very short people doing sideline interviews after the game. Peyton Manning looks like the Hunchback of Notre Dame there.

Another note, the Eagles home opener streak ends. The NFC East + NE regular streak stays alive.

None of the games were anything memorable.

On the other hand we have probably the best championship weekend matchups in ages. The two biggest rivalries both in the biggest potential games.

Next Sunday will be one to remember.

2011 playoffs is the most recent great weekend from a fan perspective.

BAL/NE came down to a final kick Cundiff missed.
NYG/SF came down to OT and FG for NYG.

Yeah IDK if next weeks games will be as great but if you asked anyone what the two biggest rivalries were, in the AFC everyone would say Broncos-Patriots and in the NFC Seahawks-49ers.

Now we have both playing in the playoffs, in the championships game. Doesnt get better.

Last 8 (maybe 7 can't remember) Super Bowls winners have played New England and the NFC East in the regular seasons.

The AFC East has played the NFC Super Bowl team every year since 2006.
