Discussion for the 23rd Overall Pick

    It would kind of depend how the board falls after the first six picks or so, but there is so much talent in the first round it is hard to really screw up bad. I think many of the heavy hitters are defensive players so there is a strong chance JD might lean defense at 23. OL would be the popular choice.

    I'm with you in your approach. I'd like to see us take the best available playmaker (offense) at 23, and best available lineman at 34. Get a weapon and protection early and build on that.

    My dream scenario is grab a falling Jaelen Phillips at 23 and a falling Caleb Farley at 34.

    Both will fall below where their talent level would normally put them, due to injury issues. I think it’s possible they could both be gone by 23 but also possible the Jets could get them like I laid out... It’s impossible to say. I’d swing big and try and get the talent.
