Patterson, we need offense, points points and more points. You can't win games without scoring points. Time for the jets to catch up with the league
You can't win games if you don't score & you can't win games if you can't stop the opponent from scoring. For the Jets there's big holes on offense & defense. This is a 3-4 defense missing 3 LB. Also, good chance both Safeties are gone. I'm alright with picking Patterson @ 9. Then addressing OLB in round 2 or 3. Let's not act the defense is just fine though.
I'm not saying to ignore the defense but offense needs much more help. Rex is a genious on defense and can work with less more then the offense can. We do need two safties, and two OLB. I also think that if needed we can give bush and Allen a shot at safety. I really like Allen as an in the box safety. 2nd and third round need to be OLB, RB or safety if we go Patterson. I think we can feel a good amount of holes in this draft. I did forget OL. But ducasse should get a shot at guard
1. Offense needs help. That is true. 2. So do you reach for the player at #9? I would always say FUCK NO to reaching under any circumstance. 3. If BPA dictates offensive player at #9, I wouldn't complain. It doesn't seem like that's how it's going to play out. Things can change between now and the draft day - but I wouldn't bet on that changing.
If by just blew out, you mean a few months ago, you correct. This is a non issue and has been widely know for awhile he may need surgery on it.
From Down at the One downattheone.com/NFL/NFL-Scouting-Combine-coverage-Pac-12-Preview Dion Jordan, DE/OLB, Oregon At 6-6, 240 lbs, Jordan is another tweener who's natural position at the pro-level is up for debate. Jordan certainly put up good numbers in college showing that he's more than capable of rushing the passer as well as fulfilling assignments in the run game. Unlike other tweeners in this years draft though, Oregon asked him to play with his hand in the dirt as well as stand up and drop into coverage. He originally went to Eugene as a tight end but moved to the defensive side of the ball in spring 2010. This kind of athleticism, coupled with his size and experience should allow him to transition to the next level without too many growing pains. Jordan currently projects as a late first round pick and could be a steal for a team only a few pieces away from making a run at the Super Bowl. He'll be hoping for a good Combine to move him up the board.
Mike Mayock is the only talking head I listen to when it comes to evaluating players for the draft. He thinks Dion Jordan is the best OLB prospect this year and thinks in 2 years he will be Aldon Smith. I'll take that further and say that if he can add some strength and technique he could be more than Smith, as he can also drop back in coverage.
i had torn labrum surgery a few years back. He should recover fully, and shouldn't affect him much in the long term. Only disadvantage is he really won't be able to lift weights or bulk up much prior to camp. That can catch up to you as season goes on...especially the long NFL season which is tough on rooks to begin with. Need push off strength in that shoulder to get separation on the pass rush. That wouldn't discourage me from drafting him though, as long term its a very recoverable procedure. I'd be more concerned with a QB having this procedure..but not an OLB.
