**Newsflash** He's never been healthy. He's never made it through 16 games. I'd like him to be great too. but even if he comes back looking like the Chad of old, it'll only be a matter of time before he's leveled and running off the field grabbing something else. He's immobile and brittle. That's a bad combination.
Im rooting for Chad... Like him or not, when he is on the field we win, period. It doesn't matter if his arm is dangling from a thread like it was at the end of '04. He leads this team to victories, and that is the name of the game. Here's hoping Chad comes back as the starter...
He's just a pigskin tossing fool, is he. Fancy that. I'd like nothing better than to see him surprise me. Go ahead, Chad - I dare you to make my year.
The bottom line is that this season will be a huge year for Chad and it will tell us a lot about Chad?s future here. Peace out.
 even i could throw a nerf football 5 or 10 yards on patterns in a non-contact drill! quick! someone call tanny to have me signed before herm and the chiefs come calling.....
I'm intrigued as to who these "bystanders" were. Did the Jets just roll up at a public park and start throwing or are there people who go to passing camps just to stand there? It's not open to the general public, is it?
its very easy to rule him out. you have to if you want the team to succeed. they ruled him out by trading for ramsey and drafting clemens. the team has to plan accordingly as if pennington isnt even on the roster cuz they dont know what theyre going to get from him come gametime. we all love chad and have faith in him to come back, but the main point you touched on is "When healthy he's a proven winner....." he will never be as healthy as he was. two surgeries on your shoulder doesnt make you healthy, it makes you "less injured" with that being said im anxious to see him on the field again and ill keep my fingers crossed he can come back, otherwise its time to wave goodbye to country boy.
If Duckwing makes it back, it will only be a good thing IF he can stay on the field and off the IR list. Otherwise, it will more of the same that we've all painfully become accustomed to. We still haven't gotten 16 consecutive games out of our "franchise QB" in a single season. We'll see how this plays out.....
You can't help but admire the guy's persistence and work ethic. However, as CMan says, he hasn't been able to stay healthy during his career. Maybe adding some bulk this offseason will help - and of course, the addition of two young stud OLinemen in the 1st round of the draft to protect him?
Translation: No, I'm not jaded or bitter. I just like eating ground glass by the handful. Yes, of course I like that sort of thing. Hehehe.
I agree that his playing time as a starter has been a disappointment, but I wouldn't call him "brittle." An injury prone player is one who tweaks a hammy or twists his ankle a couple of times a season. Chad's situation is completely different, and all three major injuries were just bad luck. Chad has much more time to rehab this time around. I also like the fact that he has bulked up a bit and seems to be in the best shape of his life. Look at the wonders this did for Abraham this past season. Is it possible that Chad gets injured again and his career ends this season? Of course, but to completely rule him out (like many seem to be doing) is ignorant IMO.
You should take a look at the Jets record with Chad as the starter and compare it to when he is out of the lineup. The guy makes us a winner, no matter how you put it.

Yah I could see it now Miss pennington: Chad lets go the hoe down is starting at 8 Chad: No some guy named the Gator from tgg said I need surgery right now !
Good for him. I really am doubting his ability to come back to 02 form, but miracles happen. Good luck chad, even though it is far from a long shot...
Len Pasq is an IDIOT...............dont listen to him..........Let's hope for the best for CHAD.........
