i was telling everyone it was a massive overpay in the offseason and was called a moron. that contract we gave him didnt make sense. he isnt a 3 down player anymore, and even if he was other free agent ILBs got like half of what he got. i 100% disagree on his play. i thought he has looked awful. he gave up what would have been a long td had sproles not dropped a pass right in his hands. he is still useful to throw his weight around between the tackles, outside of that he is a liability
I don't think we overpaid at all. If he goes, who's gonna replace him? There is nobody there wasn't a free agent that could give you better production or a better price. Think of it in terms of the market and it makes perfect sense, plus he's given this team his all, we can't sit here and bitch. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
how about anyone? he isnt good. spikes, mcclain, whomever. draft someone, sign someone next year in FA. you can say who is going to play LB if he is gone... how about who is going to play LB now that he is here? our ILB's are complete trash
Dude I try being objective with you but it's very clear to me, you don't understand football one single bit. Are you frigging serious? He's been a stud thru 3 games. He's always consistent. He's causes 2 of the turnovers we've had. He's blown up countless plays. We have the number 1 scoring defense in the NFL. Number 4 in total defense you have got to be kidding me. Harris is 2 down player. period. and we will never have a top defense with him on the field on 3rd downs. where was our pass rush or coverage on ends/backs on sunday? him and davis both need to be replaced.
So harris didnt nearly give up a long touchdown to sproles who dropped on right in his hands? Davis didnt give up one to matthews in the same situation? harris hasnt been a libility on 3rd downs this season? davis/harris didnt get beat all day sunday? trolling? more like too many homers.
Great guy who leaves it all out on the field, a sure tackler, and is a great locker room guy. He is worth every penny.
lmao WOW - you really do talk outta your ass. You just spew out the most random bullshit. 2 big time forced fumbles in 2 games. Almost doesn't count last time I checked. Harris so far hasn't been a big time liability. I suggest you come back to Earth and watch some games. He looks much lighter on his feet and has been making plays. He's the best tackler on the team. Where's Spikes right now?
Harris is great, although sometimes he looks lost in coverage. I think his game has really evolved and he's knocking more balls loose now. He used to be all about the safe tackle, it seems he stepped up his aggressiveness with going for the ball. He's a really important part of our defense and that can't be over stated. I think he's well worth the contract. Wheel routes seem to be burning us at times, but that's something we can improve.
Apparently, 1 player is suppose to stop everyone on the field! You attempting to save grace is a complete and utter failure.
I was initially against re-signing him as well and for the reasons you mention, but I understood why they did. He's having a great season. Having read the Post article about him, if true, with his personality he probably loves playing for Bowles, and was never that wild about Rex. That could be why (and the differences in scheme that better utilize his talents) he looks rejuvenated and is having such a good year. Regardless of the reason, I'm glad at this point that they kept him.
I think the problem is the NFL is getting so into this flag football style of passing that many things that build the foundation are getting ignored. 1st and 2nd downs are just as important as 3rd downs. Demario Davis is supposed to be our 3rd down guy and has looked pretty bad. I absolutely support this signing.
SMH, we have one of the best defenses in the league and you're gonna say the young ilb isn't starting material? stop
No, he's not starting material. Just because he's young doesn't mean he's good dude. Davis is non-competent.
