Even Chris Johnson should be able to see that Darnold is regressing. There is only one solution: fire Gase before he makes Darnold unsalvageable.
Darnold played a good 1st half until the INT but it is obvious that he has not recovered from the NE game. He should never have been left in the 2nd half against NE. Sit him for 2 weeks and let him mentally heal and then see how he responds the last 6 weeks. He is a better player than last year when he gets a few seconds but when rushed he is much worse and not able to extend plays like last year.
He's from CA and went to USC. Probably is in shock, doesn't give a shit and cheated on his Wonderlic.
I have to agree... Contrary to what our illustrious HC states about him being OK... he doesn't have the confidence he had before. I see him pressing to make plays and like you said he has no time... how could the entire line shift left and leave - AGAIN - another unblocked runner to the QB. That is not on SAM or Winters telling Harrison to hike the ball... CAN SAM recover? Maybe if AG and his sht show get shown the door,,,

This is the weirdest tendency. It's like the Jets do a good job of scripting their first drive but then they re incapable of adjusting their gameplan as the other teams react to what they're doing.
He's definitely regressed. But I can't tell if his mistakes are due to never having any time to throw, or due to flaws that can't be fixed. I mean, the guy has never had a chance. If he can't get it done next behind a better O-line (assuming Douglas does the right thing), move on. But for now, yes, I would agree that we need a quality veteran QB behind him.

That's just putting blinders on. It's not coaching, this team has no talent and the QB isn't really that much better. That is the bottom line. No amount of coaching is telling this kid to make some of the decisions he's making. Even when he has time he's still making risky throws. He's not playing well at all. Agreed, and that INT was a tipped ball. He said he was trying to throw it out of bounds but it got hit (looked like it.) Didnt see the replay but if thats the case its not a question of him being too stupid. It was just that he was trying to make a play and judged poorly. It happens.
Still doesn't absolve him of blame. If you have a guy in your face and you're falling backward, you can't throw it away. You have to take the sack.
