Paul caught a much better game than Jorge, but keep in mind, wild pitches are the fault of the pitcher, passed balls are the catcher.

Overall, our defense was shit tonight.

Joe LOVES to use the pen. Just like pinch running and defensive replacements.

Are the NYY going to face Trachsel and Wright next?

In other baseball news, I watched some of the ARI-WAS game tonight. At first glance, it was tough to tell the teams apart. I think the new Diamondbacks color scheme is better than what they had, but it is similar to Washington's.

There will be a lot of shitty baseball played near the Beltway this year. WAS should easily have the worst record in the NL and BAL was my pick for last place in the AL East.

I only watched a couple minutes when he was in (CBS shows at 8 and 9 and Nationals game took precedence), but my guess is Pettitte was removed to avoid back trouble. Pitching in cold weather can't be fun for a guy who has had back issues in the past. Why risk anything in an April game?

Torre's way of making the game about him... the media created this to a great extent with all the bullshit "He such a game manager" all the time... he belives his own hype

Pettitte was on a pitch count of 80, and he reached 83 before Torre took him out.

So I just got home and holy crap it was cold up where we were.

It wasn't such a great game, but we had a fun time, and it was free, so...

Petite got a sick ovation when he was warming up. It was awesome.
