Reports are questionable but details aren't. Are you inferring the eagles released Jackson without cause? Are you saying his release is unsubstantiated?

If we're not signing players for posting pictures with guns, we might as well fold the league.

I don't think they released him because of his gang association. he has a clean record and they've had him on the team since 2008, why release him now?

If I were Philly I would have traded him for something.

No he is not the only player who was around with the gangs but the key is "are they still tied to it somehow". If you were a GM or an owner, would you want your player or employee hanging around with a gang or friends that were in connection with the crimes?

Yes DeSean may not have been involved in any criminal activity nor has been arrested as far as we know, but he hasn't shown his club that he was willing to change...It has been cleared that last year he has been having issues with the club, coaches and players by showing up late, and missing out team meetings...

I would argue that in terms of winning football games its worse to have a player who skips team meetings and slacks off than it would be to have a player who commits murder. Neither should be welcome on the jets IMO but at least one isn't directly detrimental to the team.

No but if you were to rule out every player because of association, you would be losing out on a lot of players. Desean has a clean record, there are A LOT of players in the NFL that have done worse.

was he reportedly released? Are you inferring that the eagles only cut him to save $?

See thats a different issue, I wouldnt want him on the jets because of that, but this associtation is not going to completely deter me from looking at him.

The eagles knew about his associations and gave him a contract extension. Clearly the situation has worsened.

I just don't get why people would assume anything other than that an outright release by the eagles (not even a trade for a conditional 7th rounder?? ) isn't a giant f'ing red flag. Even Santonio was dealt for a 5th and look how he was as a teammate.

they released him because they didn't want to pay him $10 million a year. the gang ties simply allow them to blame it on something other than money.

And the report even says that the alleged connection to that incident was YEARS ago, and it also says that Desean was COMPLETELY ruled out as a suspect.

Deseans no worse than a lot of other players in the NFL. Clean record, completely ruled out of the incident from the past. Desean got cut because of the money and the bad work habits, if it was because of this gang inovlement the Eagles would have done it years ago.

I think this is the most likely reason.

Jackson has a clean record. People have done far worse in this league.

JR Smith does the same stuff for the Knicks with his posing signs, his bad attitude etc.

Jackson is more JR Smith than Aaron Hernandez IMO. Of course Jackson has more talent than Smith does in his sport and is the better player but he's of the same type of breed.

Technically it would be a winning argument but the nature of the argument is so stupid that you lose anyway
