Pretty sure you can lose draft pick(s) old but the only thing I can find that talks about it http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/54358/peyton-talk-not-worthy-of-tampering-penalty
Lol dumbass Woody needs to know his role. It's obvious Philly is shopping him so maybe we get away with it.
http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...on-says-new-york-jets-interest-desean-jackson This one has more of a "DeSean Jackson to the Jets" feel to it; makes it seem like Woody is really serious....interesting, and I will be attracted to ESPN and NFL.com like bees to honey the next few days....sure sounds like something may be brewing! As for the tampering concerns, maybe since the Jets and Eagles are apparently talking about a possible deal, that negates any tampering issues?
Our D is still stronger than our O despite our secondary troubles. Winters was the worst guard in the NFL last season and Colon is average. If someone goes down we are in trouble. I really want some talented depth on our O line.
It's the same Woody quotes with a different perspective from the writer. Meaningless. He did confirm however; that woodys comments are technically considered tampering. What a dick wad.
That's the question. ... anyone know the answer to this? I would think that Woody would know what he's doing, and not risk losing draft picks or DJax if he does really want him. Maybe there's more politics than we know of in the league office, among the circle of owners/commish, etc, and perhaps Woody knows he won't get hit with tampering charges. Like maybe he's got an "IN" with Goodell, so to speak, or something like that?
I'm not sure its tampering if the team is fielding calls for the said player and its been reported for almost a week now that the player is on the trading block. Could be wrong tho. Hope Woody isn't that stupid and we lose a pick
It's probably tampering. Desean Jackson now knows that the Jets are interested in his services, an assurance they are not allowed to make to him while he is under contract to the Eagles unless the Eagles have granted the Jets permission to speak to Jackson about a potential contract rework if a deal has been consummated. If the Eagles have let the Jets have contact with Jackson already as part of a trade process then it probably is *not* tampering because Jackson already knows the Jets are interested and discovered this through the mechanism of the Eagles allowing the Jets to talk to him.
I'm sure the Eagles and the Jets have discussed a trade already. I would assume if there was a line of communication already open between organizations it's not tampering.
That is exactly why we should not give up much for him. A 5th rounder at best...or swap Stephen Hill for him even up...or trade out of position LB Coples for Jackson and Eagles #2 pick.
No way this happens lol Philly would have to be downright stupid to take that trade. They are trying to get a draft pick. If they can't, they'll release him. The only way I can see that happening is if they are about to release him and no one has offered them the pick they want. Then at least they can get a player out of it, but even then, I don't see this organization giving Hill away when they don't have to.
The Eagles leverage with Jackson, to get him to take a pay cut, is to wait until the last minute to release him in August when teams have already set most of their cap for the year. The Eagles might release Jackson earlier than that but if they have any intention of keeping him at all they can drag this out right up until Sept 1st or so.
