    BREAKING NEWS!

Jets are said to have finalized a trade giving away Mark Sanchez straight up for Aaron Rodgers. Now, this may fall through, and likely will, but I am hearing it has been agreed upon by both camps.

Time will only tell. The suspense is killing jet nation.

    Horrible idea.
This would be a move in the opposite direction of Idzik's whole philosophy.

He's Holmes version 2.0 but smaller and albeit faster, but the guy is tiny. 5'10" 175lbs, and that's a VERY generous 175 he looks more like 165.

If he would be willing to restructure his contract I'd say go for it but I don't see that happening. IMO I'd much rather have Martavis Bryant in the 2nd or 3rd than giving our 3rd to philly for DeSean and his contract, no thanks.

He would certainly have to restructure his contract, but he could be had for a 4th or 5th because of his deal. That's likely part of the reason why the eagles are going to get rid of him, they don't want to pay him. It is either get something, anything in return or cut him. But his remaining guaranteed money is pretty small so they have already handed out the cash and now they just have to deL with a small cap hit for 3 years. But it is still better than paying him $10 mil next year

    Sign this beast asap... Kerley/Decker/Jackson/Cumberland/Ivory/Powell/Goodson...

That sounds like a beast offense to me.. Plenty to work with.

It's amazing that a 27 year old receiver who just had his career year and is healthy was cut after his team made the playoffs.

I guess you could see it coming because Chip Kelly obviously hates him, however it's still one of the top 10 mystery cuts of all time.

His cap number was high but the Eagles weren't under cap pressure this year. His salary number was high but he was highly productive last year.

This is a Randy Moss caliber strange cut.

I keep hearing people talk about gang activities. Does that have any truth behind it?

No more truth than it did when he was signed to his extension or played for the Eagles last season.

As far as I can tell this really is about his cap number, his relationship to his coach and his general work ethic. If the gang ties issue had been a big deal the Eagles would probably have cut him after the Aaron Hernandez thing broke. They certainly wouldn't have spent this winter just waiting for that story to break over them like a wave of garbage.

One thing is certain. Even just a rumor of gang involvement should be enough to keep the Pats away.

Gang ties of any sort are bad news in the NFL today because of the Hernandez situation. We forget that one of the reasons that LA does not have an NFL team at this point is because NFL Security could not handle the issues that having 2 teams in LA caused. It wasn't all about a lack of money that caused the Rams and Raiders to fly the coop, it was being unable to control their fanbase on game day.
