how did we get something for him? conditional pick? i hope he catches 2 touchdowns next time he plays.
Out of curiosity, who would be the likely FA options at WR next year? I'd have to agree with OLine over WR as the top priority. Sanchez needs to have consistent protection before we can bitch about his receiving options.
I don't believe anything coming from Cimini. Most of the time, Clubs never annouce conditional pick details. Like I said, it could be a 7th if Mason meets all conditions.
You don't cut a guy if you think he has value (barring monetary/character concerns). You trade him or you keep him.
A few off the top of my head... Dwayne Bowe-Who would make this offense insane. Brandon Lloyd Pierre Garcon Reggie Wayne Mario Manningham Marques Colston
Hell yes, if he doesn't perform, write it in his contract he must eat a 5 gallon bucket of prozac, win win...........
None of whom we have any business paying after giving that contract to Holmes. We need to focus on building through the draft next season with our financial situation. Even Garcon is going to come with a price tag if he keeps up his recent rapport with Painter.
There's top tier guys like DeSean Jackson, Vincent Jackson, and Dwayne Bowe. Then there's Steve Johnson, Mario Manningham, Reggie Wayne, Marques Colston, and Brandon Lloyd. Braylon Edwards will also be a free agent. I really don't think this team can afford to pay another solid free agent WR. We need to bring in a rookie or two. I've been campaigning for a right tackle pretty hard in the draft forum. I'm just not sure how talented the class will be if certain players don't come out. The best guys will go in the top ten and we'll definitely miss out on those players. The wideout class is incredibly deep. The Jets should be able to get a potential #1 in the second round. Sanu, Broyles, Criner, Jones...all talented kids that are just behind even better players.
he was a bad fit in this offense....with burress and mason we had no speed outside of holmes. kerley is fast, so that helps a bunch. he's a perfect slot receiver
Depends whether there's a trade on the table or not. If no-one's offering anything then he has no value, and if the player has made it clear he doesn't want to play for you any more then you're probably better off freeing up the roster space for someone who does. His current position on the Steelers' depth chart would suggest that he overestimated his abilities, and as I said the other day I can see a Coles-like return to New Jersey in the summer after he realises life wasn't so bad here after all.
