Hansen should have more success in the majors given what his strength is, but Cox has been the better all-around pitcher. Hansen has a better chance at completely dominating, and also has a higher risk of being a bust, while I think Cox has a better chance of being a strong, reliable reliever for his career.
The Yankees system is the definition of mediocre, they have 2 top 100 prospects, only 1 in the top 85. They have some interesting guys in A ball, but no surefire prospects. There is a reason most low level prospects aren't highly rated, they have a low sucess rate.
Look at other systems, most have much better talent, the Yankees have only 2 guys who might be ready within two years. Hughes is really the only legit prospect they have. Consult BA, or BP. Edit- can you honestly say the yankees have better than 15th best farm system? edit- here are 15 better right here- ARI, LAD, LAA, FLA, BOS, KC, CLE, MIL, PIT, TB, MIN, SEA, CHC, WAS, DET
One could argue where the Yankees system ranks going into the season, but it would be one of the biggest shocks in baseball if the Yankee system wasn't top 10 by the end of the season. But I don't mind what the rankings say. Having closely followed minor league baseball for a long time, I know the Yankees have had three consecutive great drafts, and have a ton of depth and talent in the system. I don't need Baseball America, a publication that seems to think the Red Sox are the only team in baseball, to tell me where their system ranks.
This is the jeter thread for the whole season... So people deal with it, and it getting bumped up for the rest of the year. Jeter rules.
