Why don't you write the same letter to the entire Yankee roster?

My yankees always get there numbers, do the mets? No way.

Why do you think beltran wanted to become a yankee and was going to take significantly less money?

Because he knows he is not worth that much.

This thread is so sad. I said it before and I'll say it again: the fact that you guys can't come up with a better criticism of Jeter than "he sucks" really just proves that he is a fantastic player.

Start your whining about the Yankees when the Mets are out of contention. You don't wanna run out of material by May.

I tried so hard to stay out of this thread but I can't do it anymore...

How can you say that us dj bashers haven't come up with any proof of him being overrated? Time after time we point out how his #'s are good but not great and how he is making 20+ mil. Time after time the yankees fans point out how clutch he is. However, time after time we point out how all his numbers decline in the postseason and late in the game and with risp. We also point out how statistically he's one of the worst fielders in the league. And after that barrage of stats the only response from the yankees fans is that it SEEMS to them that jeter always comes up big when it counts. Yet somehow the jeter bashers are the ones that don't provide any facts?

ummm... this thread is loaded with my posts all of which show in a verifiable and quantitative manner that jeter is a subpar to awful fielder, and actually performs worse than an average player in late and close situations. All the yankees fans defend with is terrible generalizations and blind faith. it's like carl everett standing in a museum looking at a dinosaur skeleton telling you it doesn't exist.

Largest payroll doesnt always win the Series. It still has to be played.
Last I checked, Yanks havent won the series since 2000 despite their payroll.

During their big run 96-00, the team played well together in addition to having the highest payroll. It also didnt hurt that the majority of team wasnt a few years away from collecting social security.

Georgie likes to spend money. What an evil man.......

How do you earn rings? Develolping key farm system players like Jeter, Pettitte, Rivera, Williams, Soriano, and Posada? Making good aquisitions like O'Neil, Brosius, Marntinez, and Hernandez? If not, then what qualifies as "earning" a championship, having a ridiculously low payroll? Then why do teams spend money? How would free agents be signed? Would a team simply not choose to sign a player that adresses a team need because they wouldn't "earn" a championship? Where do you draw the line with your payroll? Should the team owner be punished for going the "moral" payroll limit? And if so, how?

Bottom line is the Yankees did earn all of their championships and they earned them on the field. Just like how if they win this year, they'll earn it on the field. And in case you forgot, the innocent underdog Mets have the 3rd highest payrolll in baseball. A payroll that rapidly continues to grow. 27 other teams can say the same thing about the Mets "not earning" a championship.

But if none of this makes sense to you, keep to your lame "Yankees suck" circle jerk rallies.

That's where you're wrong. The Mets payroll is actually almost identical to last year or lower.

thank you boomer..that was my basic point in an earlier post and no met fan has been able to dispute that...most of our core players during our run were our own products....but they wont hear that...they just say"buy your rings" and "yankees suck" its actually a ridiculous waste of time to argue....and i really dont even dislike the mets...its these fans who say the yankees suck...why worry about the yankees....worry about your own team....and when we spanked you guys in 2000....whod you have from your own farm system that did anything to help you win?
