is it just a coincidence that he's hitting this well w/ a true leadoff man in front of him? he hasn't looked this good in years at the plate.

With Damon getting on base and A-rod hitting behind him, pitchers have to pitch to him and he has been making them pay.

Jeter has been playing wonderful. Usually a BA of .310 about this time is good for him, but over .360? He's hitting the ball very well, finding the holes in the defense, goin oppo, it's good to see...

Just a quick note: over his last 30 at bats, Jeter is hitting .533--I don't think that it has as much to do with Damon as it does just hitting #2. Pitchers are just really afraid to put Jeter on base before Sheffield, Rodriguez and Giambi.

Good post. I'm sure you probably spent a lot of time doing research.

What do you think about that?

Do all Yankee fans hold other men like that while gazing into their eyes?

Where is that Manny/Ortiz picture from last year as well?

Shade, you should ask Ozzie Guillen that question.

Jeter batted .390 or better in april...

The WBC really helped him out..

Having to play games close to playoff atmosphere and then starting the season really helped the captian.

Watched a reaply of Game 7 of the 2003 LCS and who was the man to get the 8th inning started? Of course it was Jeter- good thing we didn't have ARod then or Boston might have won back to back titles.

Not sure, but over the last few it is Ichiro and then Michael Young, at least according to Kay last night.

I'll give you a hint. To most non-Yankee fans he is "overrated" yet every fan would kill for this player to be on their team.

Yet he's only finished higher then 5th in the AL in batting average twice in those 10 years.
