It's not fair to cherry pick one stat "he has only beat a playoff team 14 times" without looking at the entire picture.

In 9 seasons, defensive rankings, the highest was 20th. Makes it hard to win games when your defense sucks every year (playoff teams or otherwise):
    PPG/Yards
    • 2022: 26/28
    • 2021: 26/14
    • 2020: 30/25
    • 2019: 24/19
    • 2018: 32/26
    • 2017: 20/23
    • 2016: 20/26
    • 2015: 22/22
    • 2014: 32/21
Team rushing rankings in 9 years, bolded just so happen to be Carr's best seasons:.
    • 2022: 17th
    • 2021: 28th
    • 2020: 14th (Career year - 67.3% 4,103 yards 27/9 101.4)
    • 2019: 13th
    • 2018: 25th
    • 2017: 25th
    • 2016: 6th (3rd in MVP voting - 63.8% 3,937 yards 28/6 96.7)
    • 2015: 28th
    • 2014: 32nd
In 9 years - 6 Head Coaches, god knows how many coordinators, terrible protection, drafts worse than the Jets, controversies..

In any typical scenario, that QB would have retired by now. Carr somehow had nothing but good seasons, the most game winning drives in the league since 2015 (looking above, you can see why), 3 Pro Bowls, 35k yards. The Raiders quite possibly have been more dysfunctional than the Jets over the last 9 years, it's a miracle Carr accomplished anything. Carr is an Above Average QB, much more talented than anyone the Jets have suited up at QB over those 9 years.

Hey... I'm not saying he's the cat's meow... but I've watched nearly every game he's played and I like what I've seen.

To say he's better than any quarterback we've had on the roster since Farve is an understatement.
He's a tough smart gritty gamer... who can distribute the ball in an efficient manner.

In nine years with the Raiders he has started every game except two... he's tough.
Sure... I've seen him make bone-headed plays trying to win games... but he's rarely had decent support in the run game or from his defense.

The reason he hasn't had more success rests solely on the team he's had around him... at least in my opinion.

If anything, Carr can stabilize the position for a few years while the search continues for a long term answer. He deserves to have an above average defense.

Cosell: "Tellin" it like it is."

Who wants a guy who cannot stand the scrutiny of what he actually does? Who wants a guy who wouldn't leap at the challenge? You want to be coddled? Go somewhere else.

I'm not shocked at all that you cannot explain yourself.

Your exact words and punctuation: "There is zero doubt they are 100% committed to Zach for at least next season."

The Jets need to go wine/dine Carr and convince him this is the place to compete for a title. They should be all over him if they're serious. They need to be aggressive and go get him.

Why do I have the feeling the Jets aren't going to do any of this? Years of scar tissue most likely.

Otherwise it's Rodgers and giving up lottery draft picks. No thanks.

At 9:30 PM eastern time the temperature in New York City currently is 47 degrees. The temperature in Las Vegas is currently 42 degrees, but it is only 6:30. It is a dry 42 - it is not hot in Las Vegas all year round - just like New York.

Yes. And that has zero what’s so ever to do with getting a vet QB for this year. He is committed to help Zach develop this year, not be the starter. Is that to hard for you to understand? Never mind. I know the answer.

Your second sentence makes no sense without saying who "he" represents. If you're talking about Woody Johnson how can he be 100% committed to Wilson for a season or more and at the same time be looking for a starting quarterback?

It appears to me that Johnson is committed to winning and is looking for the guy who can do it, draft spot or not.

Why do you always have to try to be the smartest guy in the room and find some sort of hole in what someone was saying without actually presenting any sort of opinion yourself?

My point was in reference to Carr’s statistical downturn in sub-freezing temperatures. The point I used is when he went to Pittsburgh and how going from moderately warm climates to freezing climates with quick turnarounds such as a football game is more detrimental if you are not routinely living in a cold climate.

You can check out the temperature disparity because Las Vegas and Pittsburgh below for that game.

    I
’m hyper aware that Las Vegas has seasons and isn’t 115 degrees in the blistering sun all year round.

You are wasting my time. On my post one I said the leadership, that is WJ, JD and RS. As for your second sentence, you just don’t understand. Committed to his continued development and betting the farm that he will succeed are a world apart, and he is hedging all bets, s he should. Over and out. I’m done with this thread.

You want my opinion? Unless the Jets are competing for a quarterback who has played, is playing or who is considering playing in Pittsburgh the weather there is not a factor, both the Raiders and Jets play games in Pittsburgh. I believe the weather is a much smaller factor of getting a quarterback than many here want it to be and have provided a factoid to show that. Here's another opinion for those who may be living under a rock - the weather in Las Vegas is quite variable and today's weather comparing Las Vegas and New York is not uncommon.

I don't need to be the "smartest guy in the room" to show you're posting nonsense.

Okay, be gone then. I know what "100% committed" means even if the guy who wrote it doesn't.

So, if there is no sea lion in sight, all bullshit is to be totally accepted? It worked for Santos.

How did the lowly sea lion get such a prestigious position?

The sea lion didn’t get a prestigious position. Virtually everyone here dislikes you and everything you post.

It's kinda sad actually... imagine getting your rocks off by being unlikable to a bunch of strangers.
