Take what too far? It was a question, and Derek flipped his lid for no reason. He could have handled it a lot better. Anything a player does on the field is fair game as a subject for questions during a press conference. He shouldn't be in the NFL if he can't handle that. He actually shouldn't be in the NFL for a number of reasons.
The reporter was a total dick. I don't really have a problem with him asking but once Anderson made it known he was going to talk about it he should just back off. Of course, you guys are right that being a douche is going to pay off for that guy but that speaks more to the American attitude of doing whatever is most effective. Being a huge asshole got him farther in one night than being a someone with integrity would get him in 3 years.
This hate on the journalist is nonsense. There's a TON of examples of media members going too far, but this is certainly not one of them. He asked a question that I'm sure every Cardinal fan watching the game had burning inside them. I absolutely guarantee you that if the Pats are spanking the Jets on Monday and you see Sanchez and Mangold chuckling while we're down 35-3 there will be forty threads on the main forum about it. Every single fan will want an explanation for how they could joke around at a time like that, and they deserve an answer. If they don't care, then why should the fans.
