No, it would never cross my mind because I know how talented Mims is, and know that saying he just isn't that good is BS. He has more talent than Lee, Zuniga and Perine put together.

Mims better be active this week and on the field. No excuses. We need a change of pace.

On another note what in the world is wrong with Perine? Why is he always inactive. He is not hurt we know that much.

Of course they have a reason, but it’s misguided. They have their “system” and they play that system. This is a coaching staff that wasn’t sure they’d be able to use CJ Mosley this year. Big early concerns about this staff, especially offensively

Great, I am happy he gets his chance, let’s see how many snaps he gets. Who will be inactive?, smith probably with car accident. Crowder will be active, so who would he replace?

Just posted this in the game thread. J Smith and Elijah out this weekend. Crowder and Mims take their spots.

This reads to me as, "you better ball out, or Jeff Smith is taking your spot again next week".

Hopefully Mims balls out on Sunday.

Why in the hell would Saleh add the "hopefully he takes advantage of it" part? That is an insult and unnecessary. IMO it shows that he resents having to play Mims and like his hand was forced possibly by JD or the media and the fanbase. I loved the Saleh hire initially, but I'm really starting to dislike the SOB now. He needs to STFU and focus on doing his job better and getting his CS and players to do better. If not, he can go kick rocks.

Its 3 games but early signs on the coaching staff are abysmal. The thing that irks me is the “system” bullshit. This is a coach that openly said he didn’t know if Mosley could play his system. Hate to break it to ya bucko, but If Mosley can’t play your system, you need a new system.

Classic case of media cutting the full quote to get clicks/impressions.

"He's going to get an opportunity," coach Robert Saleh said Friday. "Hopefully, he takes advantage of it. We're expecting him to. He stacked up a third consecutive week of great practice. He's really getting comfortable within the offense, and we're excited to see him get his op."

Agreed and the right approach. You want playing time, now is your chance. Ball out and prove your worth.

I actually really like this approach. Hopefully Mims comes out with a chip on his shoulder

Let's face it: Saleh's hand was forced with Moore and Smith both out. Now I can't wait to see if Mims can deliver the goods. If he doesn't, that probably means our CS actually might be onto something here as far as not playing him before. But if he does, like we all hope he will, does that mean our CS is totally clueless? They clearly failed starting Fant at the RT over Moses, like the fans were saying. If Mims proves them wrong again and plays well, does that mean fans on this board are better tuned into the team than CS? Or we chalk it up to another rookie mistake?

On the other hand, if mims lays an egg, can we move on from it. Hope he balls out, but if he is invisible, then he will be inactive next week and going forward presumably.

So Mims only gets one game, huh, while Moore, Smith et al get the whole season? Got it. I know where your head is now. Suffice it to say that I couldn't possibly disagree more.

Not my thought, but that is what I think the CS will do. Then they will have the ammo to shoot down an further criticism for not playing him.

If they really think that, then they're dumber than I thought they could possibly be, and we have no chance with them in charge.

Thanks for fleshing out the rest of the quote. Still, I think it's poor, and he sets himself and LaFleur up to look like geniuses for holding him out. They can take credit for his great play rather than letting it go to him. I like Saleh less and less with each new thing he says.

Hope Denzel comes with it this game, with chip on your shoulder, and shows up! He may not get a better chance with this CS. If he shows, then they will have no option but to play him. If not, could be long road to another chance…
