it would cost more to trade up. Leinart at 2 would cost about the same if not more than the 15th, 22nd and 29th combined... signing bonus anyway.
if denver would do this trade if mario was available. which i dont know if there that crazy to. we could really turn this thing around real quick. look at what we could pick up 15. justice 22. williams 29. mangold 35. watson. i think this guy stock has dropped a little would be a steal in the 2nd round. what else would we need. a pass rushing OLB. that would be it really. every other pick would be for depth. but in all reality i dont think denver would make this trade. i do think mario will be there at 4 though. the saints have two really good DE why add another. unless there doing something with charles grant
Pick #4 = 1800 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pick #15 = 1050 Pick #22 = 780 Jets give up 1800 points and get 1830 back. fair trade according the the draft pick value chart. http://www.thehuddlereport.com/NickelPackage/tradevaluechart.htm
I wouldn't even blink before accepting this deal. I wouldn't make the same picks as many of you are suggesting, but I would take one of those first rounders, and swap it with another team for their #1 next year. I really want a 2 pick first round next year, since I don't want to take any of the QBs this year. I would rather try what we have now, and if we aren't convinced we have the guy here, we use the two 1's next year to go up to the top and grab up Quinn. And if we have the now and future guy already, we will still have an extra first rounder next year to address whatever needs we find over the course of this year.
We would need to get more than 15 and 22, if you remember, we traded 12 and 22 AND a 4th rounder for 4 so I would expect a 4th rounder from Denver as well, if not a 3rd.
If we did get those picks i would do the same except take either Lawson(if there) Wimbley(if there) or Carpenter with the second Round pick.
at this point we need a game changing playmaker. This way we can groom him trade him away like we did Abe.
IMO you stay at the top if and only if you want to draft a QB. OTherwise this is the sort f deal that benefits both teams and I would heartily approve.
I don't know,we could really use our future RB from the top. IMO,if there was a chance to get Bush,we stay,otherwise.....
I'm not sure you can pass on Williams at 15. There's a good chance he won't make it to 22. This is what I'd do... 15) deangelo williams 22) bobby carpenter 29) nick mangold 34) best available RT - maybe Colledge? Our O-Line becomes very good and young, we get the second best running back in the draft, and a LB that Mangini likes. Then we have an early 3rd round pick, a late one, and 2 4th round picks to fill the rest of the team out.
