Convincing wins is what it will take. Teams should not look at the Jets as a gimmie and gloss over them. Make them prepare as they would any other good team. When they start worrying about you is when you know you are getting there.
No, it’s not a trap game. It’s a game the Jets should win comfortably this far into Douglas/Saleh tenure. No questions or excuses
It's not just the trap game angle, it's the ability to run off 3-4 wins in a row. That consistency is what good teams do. Bad teams win one and lose the next one and never build any type of sustained success. This is definitely a trap game and Denver just steamrolled a Bucs team who was playing well. If the Jets want to be taken seriously this season, they need to bring their A game this weekend. A 3 game win streak will show me this team is progressing.
I don’t think it’s a trap game, we have a lot of juice in this one with the whole Hackett/Payton debacle and Den just won last week. Den is traveling to us, I honestly think we’re gonna whip the shit out of them.
Rodgers missed out on hanging 50 on the Broncos when the rest of the league was doing it early last season, after the Hackett stuff. I think he has this one circled. I'll be really surprised if this game is close.
This IS a classic trap game. We are pretty heavily favored, and historically this is the exact game we would lose…an inferior opponent, we’re coming off a bye which historically we’ve sucked after, we are getting too many good writeups so the team gets a bit overconfident. This is a game we SHOULD win, but this is the exact kind of game we’d lose in the past. So to me, this will show me a lot about where we are. If we lose, then yup…same old Jets, but if we win, that will start changing the narrative a bit. We have two really hard games coming up with Minny and Buffalo, so again, this is really kind of a must win.
I agree.......and if the Jets lose, it can only mean one thing. The team wasn't prepared correctly and that's on Saleh.
Ok…went and looked it up here’s what I found: “Over the last 18 years, the Jets are tied for the 4th worst record after a bye at 7-11 for a .389 winning percentage” Kind of backs up how I felt…
Anecdotal is a not bad thing sometimes. Especially depending on who's doing the observing. I had a feeling you were correct
yeah…just felt like we always suck after time off, and while I know this wasn’t technically a bye, it’s kind of similar in that they have the weekend off and it’s a longer than normal break between games
