The longer it goes on without any real progress with the investigation the more I think this is just going to get swept under the rug or they will get a slap on the wrist in the offseason. In my mind the asterisk is there but that doesn't really account for much.

If the facts we have heard (balls PSI checked pregame,PSI dropped 2, weather can't effect the ball by that amount), I don't think there is a chance someone didn't alter the ball.

The problem, like spy gate, is the NFL has its own brand image to protect.

The NFL wants to see this go away even more so than the Patriots, especially after the year the NFL has had.

OK. Explain the reports the NFL was going to check balls at halftime anyway? Before the game started.

You know that's a good point a caller just made:

Bellicheck said he had no knowledge of any of this prior to Monday morning. Said it was all speculation to him and didn't know any of it was real until Monday.

You're telling me he had no idea his 12 team balls were confiscated at half time?

@SteveGrogan - this is what being realistic looks like. FYI.

Oh, there is no doubt someone altered the 11 AFC championship game footballs, on the New England side. Bb knew about it too.

Pretty pathetic considering how talented the team is without utilizing unnecessary advantages. Bb is a cheater and a liar; and the team he coaches is now a fraud.

Is it you don't believe them or your hoping? Plus I think by BB and Brady doing early press conferences says they are true. Imo

I don't believe the reports that the NFL was already looking into it. Patriots are arrogant, but to also then deflate the balls when they knew an investigation was ongoing? Come on.

the template is already in place after what the NFL did after spygate

fine, confiscate a draft pick, destroy all evidence, ignore all questions about the specifics about what happened

Patriots just deny deny deny, we knew nothing. The end.

I think it's possible the league was tipped off and the Patriots didn't know. Someone told the league watch for this. If NE knew the league knew, they'd stop, but they didn't know people had caught on.

Did anyone think BB was going to do anything but deny this? Even if he personally deflated the balls, which I'm sure didn't happen, he would have said the same damn thing. c'mon.

He didn't know the rules or procedures? Yea - right. I'm not sure on this but didn't he spout similar nonsense about spygate?

There is a reason you have never seen a wr split out inside a tackle.

It must be bc bb is smarter than everyone else har har har

I could see this being a possibility, but I just can't see them risking this in the AFCCG.
