Bowles deserved to be fired. Change was needed so Bowles made some changes, but he shouldn't have been the one making the changes.

The argument could easily be made that schematically the defense was much, much worse than the offense. I am in no way petitioning for Chan to stay, but the offense was decimated by injuries compared to the D. Not to mention, more often than not, it was a complete cluster fuck on the back-end. I have never seen so many blown coverages on one team in my life. How can TB and Rodgers not figure out a way to get consistent pressure on the QB with the talent on this defensive line? I understand the sieve of a secondary made it tough for the pass rush to always get there, but c'mon - 3 first round picks and they managed all of 27 sacks, 7 of them coming in one game!

All this says to me is that this franchise perfectly defines the following phrase:

    ABSOLUTE ORGANIZATIONAL DYSFUNCTION

Exactly, sort of like that fool that Rex had here and brought with him to da Bills.... this move is the epitome of an "empty suit" move to cover one's own ineptitude.

Bowles probably will fail, but at least we saw it through. No one is gonna say the Jets didn't give him a chance. We will at least know for sure that a highly recommended coach by many in the league did not live up to the billing.

Another positive thing is that if Mac has another crap draft or a bad offseason, we probably give them both the boot.

It's disheartening to think we will have to deal with this again at the end of next year. I hope they turn it around, seriously.

I hope Mac does not blow the draft, I can live with a bad HC, I can't live with bad draft picks because they hurt your team for a longer period of time than a bad HC.

many agree with u but we have to think that woody had paid outsider football consultants on the hiring case. No way he sabotages the group effort by firing after 2 years.

    I know this is a bit off topic but I don't want to start another thread on it but ;
Did you hear the last thing Revis said before that video ended?
"I'll have this off season to get myself into playing shape ".
WTFFFFFFF was this season a fu€kin' dress rehearsal!?!?!

Players should also be held accountable when they outright STEAL their salary for the season AND take up precious salary cap space , to play like total DOG SHIZZLE!!!
    Unacceptable

Yeah that is an egregious comment from Revis and basically just admitted he didnt do shit this year. He needs to go otherwise it sends the message to the entire team that you can be a lazy bum and still get a paycheck.

Keeping Rodgers just totally ruined it for me. It clearly highlights how over his head TB is. Wish they would have fired his ass right on the spot.
We will continue to put defensive players out of optimum position to fit his shit schemes.

Yes. We cannot afford to have Mac have another lousy draft. It already looks like 2017 will be a pretty bad "rebuilding" year. I mean Jesus, when was the last time we went into an off season knowing our starting QB isn't on the team? This is just about as big a mess as I have seen from this friggin' franchise and I have been a fan since the Ken O'brien days.

I wonder if Gailey really was planning on hanging it up after this year. If so that may explain the lack of effort compared to last year. A team takes on its leaders personality. Who was it that said "if you are thinking about retiring, you already are?"

With that being said, the defense was glaringly so much worse. And we get Bowles and Rodgers back again. Nothing has changed.

2017 could be historically bad. Let's say 15 and 24 are back as the "leaders" for the offense and defense. (And they very well could be). A retread QB or Hack and Petty, and a makeshift offensive line with a rookie or two.

If it is going to happen, then we need to suck all the way. Get rolled for Darnold. Get the #1 overall pick, clean house. And start fresh in '18.

Like I said, Bowles gets them jobs as a consolation at Camp Winadoody in a couple of Summers where he runs the flag football tournament

Regardless of the fact that this is truly a mess, a change of faces among the entire coaching staff is as good as we can get at this point to change the culture.

I've been hard on Bowles. I think he did a horrible job this year and had a team better than 5 wins. With that being said, he is pretty well respected in football circles and was heralded as a guy that would be a future head coach by Doug Williams and friends when he was merely a player.

Leadership is not taught. It's either there, or it's not. Smart football minds including Parcells, Casserly, Wolfe, Williams and more believe in Bowles. We absolutely need to clean up the cancers in the locker room and maybe we're looking at a much better situation moving forward.

We're stuck with Bowles for another year. So let's see what comes of this coaching staff shake up and if we're lucky we can get a future head coach out of one of these coaching changes.

I don't think we'll see the dysfunction as much if we get rid of Revis, Marshall, and Richardson. They were all looked up to by the rest of the team that fed off their crappy effort and off the field comments.

If those three are gone, we can actually start to see some rebuilding going on. We mortgaged the future and put together a two year run. It failed.

This season will be the start of the true rebuild (we hope) and I'm actually feeling somewhat confident in it.

I will not be happy if those three players are retained. Negative energy is contagious. Get rid of Richardson for a conditional third, try to trade Marshall for a late round pick (or cut him) and cut Revis. They're just holding the younger players back and in Richardson's case he actually hurts the pass rush by clogging up the space that Williams and Wilkerson operate in.

Just getting rid of Revis will be huge for the Cancer in the locker room.

    ??????

Did you see the team after his INT return, they love Revis.

    He's far from a cancer.
