your response is confusing to me. I was responding to your previous post "I vote to bring him back." But now you are acknowledging he should be banned for poaching.

the rest of the stuff doesn't really matter either/is off topic. He was not just banned for posting too many words. He was banned for poaching.... or trying to anyway

I vote to bring him back because he was banned numerous times for posting lengthy responses which initiated his attempt to poach users to a different forum.

Again, I don't give a shit what happens to him but two wrongs don't make a right. He should have never been banned before for lengthy posts and he should have never poached users after he was aggravated about his constant bans.

 

I gotta agree with you here if what you say is correct. So what if DWC was annoying. he was still a jet fan, his posts made sense to him at least and he never spared any detail. and he posted a lot. I've modded several forums before and honestly it sucks so i understand @Brook! has a shit job he does for free for the site so not giving him any shit, just saying that when i modded I didn't ban people for much at all. 1 person got permabanned by me for posting gay porn all over the site and it was only a week ban until they made a bunch of alts and did it again when we were all sleeping and we woke up to a board filled with gay porn everywhere so yeah he got banned for life for the hours we had to spend cleaning up his mess. Outside of that i never banned anyone for more then a day or 2 to let them cool off and only because they were harassing people non stop even to the point of harassing them off site via other social medias. No reason to really ban anyone unless it's something extreme. There are a few users who I don't like who I don't think add anything of value. I don't want them banned and don't think they should be banned. I just use the ignore button and now it's like they don't exist and the boards are better for it. If people don't like DWC then just add him on ignore and be done with it. No reason to ban the kid for being overly passionate and no reason to ban people for having an opinion. Especially on a forum that needs traffic to exist. Before you know it you'll wind up banning the forum out of existence by getting rid of all the traffic

 

again, he wasn't just banned for the length of his posts but the repetitive nature of the posts, often saying the same thing in several threads and then in the same thread frequently repeating what he had already said when engaged in an argument with other posters about his opinions, smashing them over the head with a 10k post complete with pictures, bolding and cherry-picked stats.

Not just on the odd occasion but very nearly a daily basis, can you not remember his 3 or 4 day row with @KingRoach about Fant, he should have been binned then.

 

that sounds very similar to every poster here during the great fields/wilson debate. how much of the same shit was repeated over and over by all of us? then how much did it devolve into trolling, harassing, and the eventual gif wars. maybe we should all be banned of that's the case?

It's annoying and childish, but ignore him. What rule did he break other than being annoying, which is why the ignore feature exists

I guess when he has been warned and better warned to tone it down and then ignores this request from a mod it leads to a ban.

I had him on ignore but it fucks with the conversation so in the end you have to unignore to make sense of it and then you get pissed off by seeing what another row is about.

Like somebody has said previously, he just wouldn't let anything drop, agree to disagree and move on, it was relentless and it has been like that for all the time I have been on here.

I guess his rep was bad due to the 50 accounts he has had and probably still has judging by that random old poster popping up today.

I do agree it isn't a banning offence per se but on totting up he was maxed out.

 

I love this forum. I love this community and I love having a location to discuss our beloved Jets. I hope to meet many of you in November when I head up to MetLife to watch the Bills game, but this forum has had a long history of banning posters for dumb reasons. As I said before, I've been victim to it.

Moderating a forum is no easy task, but banning people just because they are annoying is not the right approach, in my view. DWC was annoying as hell, but he was passionate about this team, which is a cool thing to see as a fan. It's a shame it came to this.

And the countless accounts he made also were due to him being banned constantly. I'm not justifying his actions, but you can't ban the guy consistently for a dumb reason and then fault him for finding a way to get back on the forum.

 

Well I didn't agree with your banning for the Brady thing but that could have been de-escalated before it reached that point by yourself and Brook before the unfortunate climax, I can't remember what you got banned for recently tbh, you did get one recently didn't you? Sure you did, sorry if that isn't true.

If I am being truthful, if I got banned more than once from somewhere I wouldn't be looking to go back tbh, I would move on and find another forum.

I got banned numerous times in the past by a moderator that was purposely targeting me who later resigned. I had conversations with the appropriate party at that time and the truth was understood.

My most recent ban was because of the Brady thing which was absolutely absurd. I was threatened again recently but not officially banned.

Unless a user posts something sexual, explicit, threatens someone, etc., they should not be banned. That's my view

 

Ummm. Are you talking about the Trashtalking Forum? Otherwise I really am struggling to remember what you are talking about with my "other persona".

Does anyone else remember this? I feel like the Mandela Effect is tickling my taint.
