My only issue with you banning him is that he really didn't do anything to break any rules. He just posts long responses and bloviates about himself. Not really anything that is deserving of a ban. I don't agree with a lot that he says but I also am not about just banning posters because they annoy you. That's a recipe for disaster, in my opinion. I vote to bring him back. If you have a problem with his posting, put him on ignore.
no, i was not. That obviously changes things as well. Listen, just to be clear, im not a DWC sympathizer, i just didnt get the sense he was a ‘bad dude’ so to speak. Over the top? Long winded? No doubt, but he seemed like a legit fan who wanted the jets to do well. I must admit, i would read some of his posts and say to myself is this what i sounded like when i was 10 trying to talk myself and others into why the Jets would be good.
Well said Falco, i think u summed up alot of what i was thinking there as well. however, posts aside, there were things like the poaching and multiple accounts mentioned that I am not privy to outside of what little i saw here today.
It's not about being exclusive to TGG, it's about a poster trying to get others to leave here and go somewhere else. Plenty of us are members of other sites but I never once sent someone a PM telling them to leave here and join me somewhere else. I myself have been a JetNation member twice before being banned within 2 days each time. Been here 20 years or so and surprisingly have never been banned
I never really understood the exacerbated hate for him either. He's a dopey dope, but it's a pile on affect. He was annoying sometimes, but I could never understand why everyone always got so mad when he started threads on different players that ended up long winded. I understand he was trying to stupidly recruiting people away and doing other bannable things throughout the years but if long posts are a bannable offense then there needs to be a word count cap.

My principal issue was not that he was long winded. It was that he posted the same thing in multiple threads and posted it continually every time anyone made a point he disagreed with. Never trying to make a reasoned case for whatever point he was trying to make, just trying to overwhelm the argument. Over and over again. It completely killed the vibe and discussion within the thread for me. The length of the post, lists of players, videos and overemotional hissy fits were annoying but I could live with, but killing any hope of rational discussion - which is the reason I come here - was just too much. Regardless, encouraging long term posters to leave the forum and post elsewhere deserved a permaban. That's why he's gone. The other things are why not many are too disappointed about it.
Nah--your other persona posted over there like thousands of times--remember that guy Ignatius riley--that site. Cakes was a genius over there. They used to have insult contests once a year and the old byz was always the winner. The old byz had a actual corpse as his icon--it was gross

With all due respect, Brook, you opened a discussion about it. But I don't think anyone's hard arguing with you or the mods decision as whether he should or shouldn't be banned at this point (admittedly didn't read the whole thread). The guys had 4,000 usernames. That's permabannable off the bat. I just never understood why peeps got so mad at him for being long-winded.

DWC broke many rules. Even if we ignore that, poaching members is a huge NO. I dont post here to get solicitations.. do you? What if every morning your inbox was filled with people asking you to go to this website or that website, etc. etc. You'd probably stop coming here It took TGG many years to develop this unique user base. That's why we all come here. To chat with the boys. Why should the site admin build ALL of this and then also provide a platform for someone to steal away the users of his website. Good riddance to DWC and I commend Brook for being upfront and honest about it, he's just doing his job as mod.
I am not complaining about him being banned for poaching on people, my comment was directed at the numerous times he was banned in the past. He was literally banned for posting too many words. That's breaking a rule? A guy posting a long response on a message board is banned? What is the justification in that? His reasoning for poaching was because he was banned numerous times for posting. Look, I couldn't care less if he were here or not. But when you start banning a user because others don't like him and because he posts too many words for your liking, that's when you've crossed a line in my eyes. And for the record, I was banned numerous times on this site for absolutely pathetic reasons as well. I was banned for rooting for Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. I was also banned numerous times by a moderator that resigned shortly thereafter. He was purposely targeting me because he did not like me as a poster. Say what you will about developing a unique userbase, but there have also been many faults along that road.
He tried poaching me, started giving me all these statistics about the amount of likes I received over my first couple of years compared to my last couple of years…blah, blah, blah! I told him I will leave TGG when @abyzmul leaves.
