At this point in the season this really means nothing, but it's pretty obvious the Jets defense is pretty damn good. It will be interesting to see what they do against a potent running attack this weekend. They've already smothered 2 great passing attacks.

I agree lets wait until 10 games are behind us before we pat ourselves on the back!

The Jets hands-down have the best ILB duo in the league. We already know what Revis can do, and Rhodes can be great if he's allowed to be. Ryan is cashing all these checks and this Jets defense is downright dominant, and pretty darn fun to watch too!

I wouldn't say it means nothing. The Houston and NE offenses were ranked 3 and 5 respectively to start the season.

And it's a different season. They appear to have the same high powered offenses but things tend to average out over the course of the season and teams make adjustments. We don't know how good those offenses will prove to be this year.

I think the Jets D will be very good throughout the season, but just the fact that the Broncos defense is ranked next to the Jets tells you everything you need to know about how much these stats mean at this point.

when the ball changes hands on the field during play the offense then becomes the defense. so it counts as a defensive stat

Yep...unfortunately. That is how alot of offensive players get stats for tackles.

On a side note, I wonder if Brett Favre's team mates lead the league in that stat..

You can tell we as Jets fans are not used to potentially being a good team. We look for reasons to debunk what we have done. Its true that teams changes from season to season and that the offences of Houston and New England will make changes, adjust and improve.

But with that in mind you have to take into account that this Defence is getting used to new plays, new players etc and its had 2 games. It will also improve and make adjustments.

I think that the ranking is great but, again this is all premature. Let's see where we are at the midway point in the season.

Houston put up 34 against the titans in their house, should give u an idea of how good their offense is.

Broncos allowed 13 to the Bengals and Browns. We allowed 16 (9) to the Texans and Patriots. Enough said.
