That is exactly the point I was making. I understand the proven versus potential argument and I’m not biting.it far more than just speculation. I’m not trading the chance to significantly improve two, or three much needed positions, retain a young WR that showed a lot more than just pure potential in his first year, versus filling one proven position with a stud at essentially the same cost. I’m not giving Moore up and two picks. Is ridiculous and won’t happen.
I guess to make any sense of the situation at all we should all understand exactly how much San Francisco really needs to make a deal happen, and we'll never know that unless a deal actually happens. Even throwing out the unfounded scenario that they're looking for both first round picks, a second and Moore that some insist on repeating we need to understand that it's a bid and ask situation where both parties will ask for more than they can reasonably expect to receive. To dig in one's heels now and make statements that include the word "never" is not how deals get done.
Very True. I would go the tenth pick, no Moore, no second and renegotiate his contract. Love to see both him and Moore on the field at the same time. We know exactly what JD was willing to depart for Hill. Similar terms should apply.
I am ok being aggressive. I am not ok being desperate and bending over and getting rammed by the Niners for their star WR. Eli, #10, #35 would one of the worst trades in Jets history The most I'd offer is #10 and a 4th rounder for Deebo.
Just to clarify... the whole Moore +10 + 35 thing was just some idiot on the interwebs right? Why is it even being discussed? Not a chance any team would give up a newly drafted rookie that has already shown all pro potential and two premium draft picks only to replace him with a 20+ million/yr contract at the same position.
i can see the Jet face-saving element there but if SF wants 2 is and takes only 1, how are they saving face?
