I looked back at this thread and saw that I posted about Mangold guaranteeing that this would be the first Super Bowl with both teams playing in their home stadium. I wonder if he would revise that prediction at this point?

Super Bowl or no, NYC is a great place to visit regardless of the time of year. It will certainly be a different game than if it were in a dome, but that's part of the fun! Especially if you're sitting at home watching someone else's teams play it on TV. :drunk:

That said, I'm hoping to make it to at least one Jets game this year.

Mud, blood, beer? Doesn`t exist anymore. Beer sales are cut off after halftime. Blood is rare with all the crap padding these players wear and all the dumb rules the league has now. And almost all the teams play on fake grass where there is no dirt whatsoever. There are dirtbags in the stands but thats it. The new Giants stadium is junk. I hope the 2014 SB is a huge failure. Chargers/Dolphins vs Cardinals/Falcons in crappy rainy 36 degree weather should result in a 0-0 tie. It`s just wrong to play the SB in crappy weather. Can you imagine the Steelers playing the Falcons in that weather? Or the Pats playing the Texans? It`s so unfair. I will not support this game at all. I hate the new stadium and will not give it a dime of my money nor will my televisions give it any ratings.

So would you have delayed the SB between the Colts and Bears for being played in a rainy/windy game? Is a windy game crappy weather, or does there need to be precipitation?

The negative I see is more transportation wise. Snow in February in NY, that could cancel planes, halt commute, lead to half filled stadium. Regular season and playoff games are played in bad weather to determine who makes the Super Bowl, so I don't mind bad weather in the the SB. I just think logistically a lot of things could go wrong with bad weather

The only reason this is a huge problem is because the media makes it. Last year they were sitting in New Orleans in shorts and golf shirts for an entire week. They don't want to endure the cold for the Media Week.

I guess this the only way we can talk about the super bowl anytime soon.

the weather was warm enough to actually enjoy the rain and breeze. If this new Giants Stadium had a retractable roof, there wouldn`t be any problems aside from travel problems. My actual beef with this game being played here is that I work a half mile from the craphole. My commute home from work for at least 2 weeks is gonna suck royally. I want NO PART OF IT. I don`t even care about the money it will bring in because for some strange political reason, I won`t see a penny of it anyway.
I think there should be a stadium designated for every SB. Maybe in a state like Alabama or Arkansas, maybe Montana or Idaho. Sort of like the pro bowl was designated to Hawaii. The NFL has MORE THAN ENOUGH financial freedom to build the best ever stadium in a state that doesn`t have a pro team, and more than likely never will. I know most people will say it`s a waste of money to build a stadium for just one event. But I really don`t care as long as the NFL uses IT`S OWN profits they earn in the billions each year. Shouldn`t cost the people of this country a penny. It`s the NFL that reaps huge profits from just this one game. THEY should build a stadium of their own in a nuetral site for every SB. Ofcourse finding the right place isn`t so eay because you`d need night life, attractions and all that other crap needed for rich people to enjoy. The game is nothing more than ahuge cash cow for the NFL. These advertisers who spend millions for 30 second commercials are a bunch of idiots too. There has never been a single product I saw during the SB that made me run out and buy it immediately. I don`t think I`ve ever pruchased anything that I saw during any SB. LOL These car commercials for instance. Who the hell is going to buy a BMW because they saw it during the SB? Freakin morons wasting advert money imo. Same goes for Christmas time too. I know of NO ONE who bought anyone a car for Christmas.
