That's mostly true, but maybe only to a point. As fans I'd say 90% of us couldn't care less. If a guy can play we want him on the team. this is a man whom obviously is having severe identity issues living in the public sphere. maybe its just me but i kinda feel bad that someone has to hide a major part of his life for fear of losing career prospects/fans/friends/etc. this country has come a long way as far as acceptance of homosexuality but its thinly veiled over deep-seeded prejudice that causes people to live their entire lives denying who they truly are. maybe im just crazy but the media in like the past 10-15 years has started becoming an outlet for middle-school level gossip. its getting really hard to find good actual news these days
