He doesn’t have to have the speed though. He can body corners if we give him a chance on back shoulders. He plays the X spot and we’re wasting Cobb in the slot because they won’t play Hardman or Gipson for whatever reason.

Playing Lazard in the slot is useless. There’s too much traffic inside for a guy that’s big and plodding like he is.

Not sure why we'd need another WR at this point in the season as we have a pretty good group with many starting options.

I'd rather go for something a bit more utilitarian and useful in the here and now

    Chris Hubbard - Titans

Older player currently on a 1 yr contract with a wage we could easily absorb.

Would give us cover for the missing AVT here and now and an early look at a potential piece for next year if Mekhi is gone, Mitchell is hurt or not as far along as we hoped and we're therefore not forced to keep moving AVT to a position he keeps getting hurt in.

davis retiring really hurt the plan. I think the idea was in 3 WR sets to have davis/lazard outside and GW in the slot

Lazard played in the slot quite a bit with the packers and the big slot is fairly common in the league now. it really helps the run game and the jets are a run first team.

offenses put their smaller, quicker WRs in the slot for years. Defenses have countered, they line up in the nickel D, often even as their base D. So this is the offense changing to take advantage of that. It is cyclical

Lazard is 6’5”, 230 pounds with the lateral quickness of a tightend. I mean have you ever watched Chris Godwin or Keenan Allen run and change directions? There’s really no comparison. They’re both smooth and quick as hell.

They can play Lazard in the slot and obviously there’s play designs where it makes sense including run plays. But it’s not ideal IMO. And I certainly don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t pursue another receiver because we have a 28 year old fringe 3rd receiver on the depth chart.

I said we could use another receiver. I don’t know why you’re implying otherwise.

Renfrow just isn’t the type of receiver that I would target.

why would the Raiders trade Davante when they are 3-3? Just remove him from that list

Why would the Raiders trade Randy Moss to the Patriots for a bag of sweat socks?

McDaniel’s goal is to isolate any voice in the locker room and get rid of them. He got rid of Carr, forced Chandler Jones to stop playing and go crazy and he just has Jacobs and Adams left to get rid of.

If you tune into any Raiders games, Adams is just used as a clear out for Jakobi Meyers to be open underneath. All those plays used to go to Adams.

Funny enough, my wife is a HUGE Raiders fan…she hates McDaniels big time…when they hired him we were like oof…that’s a terrible coaching hire…there goes your team

He dismantled Denver and he’s trashing the Raiders

Their WR 4 for our DE 4 doesn’t seem lopsided…

Yeah I don't consider Lawson for Renfrow a crazy one-sided trade in any sense.
