There are 3 pro bowlers, 2 all-pros (or guys that should be all-pros) on this line, and Sanchez apologists still babble about the line. It is idiotic. The problem is, has been, and will be the worst starting qb in NFL history, Mark Sanchez.
Probably has something to do with not having anyone good enough to be real starters at the other two spots and them regularly getting beat.
Moore, Slauson, and Howard are not playing at an all pro or pro bowl level. Its hard to argue that they even have played consistently average. Our offensive line is supposed to be our strength. We are a "ground and pound" team, that means we go through our O line. Our O line is not a strength currently, it's inconsistently average to slightly above average. When your expected strength is not strength, you can't hide your below average RB or QB. THey come out and full force. The offensive line is our key problem they way we built our team. Our best offensive players are on the line and the line isn't great.
How does the worst QB in NFL history have the #6 ALL TIME record for post season QB rating? Why was Sanchez able to take us to playoff wins in the past when our line was better? Our line is still average at best. It's not great, but not terrible. If you think Moore is a pro bowler this year, you seriously need to rewatch the games. He's not making it this year. He's declining. Mangold and Brick, sure. Sanchez supporters aren't the ones that brought Sanchez into this thread. It was the haters, plus RT is still a weakness, although it's slightly better. It only takes 1 linesman to blow their blocking assignment for Sanchez to get hit. The line is only as strong as its weakest link. Howard is better than Hunter, but he's nothing special. Sanchez' issues go beyond the line, but seriously, we have 2 above average players on our entire offense, and that's it. Everyone else is below average, Sanchez included.
The Jets have one all-pro on the o-line and that's Mangold. The only other probowl caliber player is D'Brick. Saying Sanchez is the worst starting QB in NFL history is stupid. He sucks, but it's easy to come up with a list of worse starting QB's.
What a terrible post. You really think Brandon Moore is a pro bowler. Guy has been terrible this season. Just because Brick and Mangold are awesome doesn't make up for the fact that the other 3 positions have been pretty terrible. Why can't Sanchez be a bad QB and our line stinks as well as our RBs and most of ours WRs.
Somehow saying some other part of the team sucks means that you are absolving SAnchez of blame. I don't get it, its a team sport and we have a lot of players/units playing bad.
There is an undrafted free agent that would be cut by many teams even if it was for depth purposes. There is a 6th rounder playing LG that would be a backup on half the teams. Theres an aging RG who is over the hill. You are only as strong as your weakest link. I guess you haven't heard that before, but even if Jets had 4 all pros on the OL and had the weakest RT in the NFL, opposing team would only need to beat the RT to get to the QB, not ur all-pros.
