I would add a right OT and get rid of Breno if a highly regarded tackle fell to us at 20. .. the Guard position that was shared by Colon and then Winters definitely needs to be upgraded before we worry about replacing D'Brick. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
We could get another couple years out of Brick but if Wilk and Brick tie up $30 mil of cap space by themselves our hands are tied in free agency.
i dont see how he is back unless we walk away from wilkerson. but we need to make this the first thing we address. if brick is gone, we need to find a LT ASAP
Solid LT don't just fall out the sky people!? Brick is on the decline but cutting him is out of the question. Restructuring his contract is a great idea and really the only viable option. Drafting a LT in the 1st round isn't always the best move.. Just ask KC with Fisher, Jags with Joekel and Rams with Robinson... All were suppose to be all world...
Brick is still a dependable starter at one of the most important positions in the NFL. I know a lot of people are down on him but I think to have someone who you know is a serviceable starter and a work horse at that position is still valuable. I expect a rework because a 14 mill cap number is not happening but no reason to replace old reliable yet.
i hear you but brick never took a pay cut, he simply restructured a few times ... all that means is that they converted his base salary to a bonus and he was paid for the season up front
Yea I'm thinking Brick is gone. With the Jets out of Cap, I'm thinking that Wilkerson will get traded and Brick is going to get cut. We'll be able to get some assets for Wilkerson, and cap relief for Brick. Couple that with a solid draft and I think the Jets will be in good shape.
lol... 1. Mac said early on when he got here he doesn't even like doing restructures..and i like that.. If the guy isn't worth his cap hit now why make him more expensive later? 2. D'Brick is laundry bag washed. Having somebody else stink it up won't hurt if it's cheaper.. Brick is a LIABILITY to our cap and offensive production.
lol i'm trying to figure out what i said to lead to that question.. and i'm prepared for whatever attack he's about to unecessarily make at me..
We've seen some truly terrible LTs that would make 2015 brick look like orlando pace. i think people are exaggerating how bad he was. I'm not saying he's worth the cap hit, mind you.
I've been watching for 15 years.. and i understand that.. I'm just saying brick is top paid with bottom production.. He isn't going to get better.. might as well save the money and start developing someone else. I don't see how Brick makes us a better team at this point but i do see how he's hurting us on and off the field.
not having brick could easily make us a worse team. the replacement needs to be solid. you cant just throw any fat kid out there and expect them to handle the best pass rushers in the world. he's certainly not irreplaceable but we need to tread carefully here IMO.
If It's between Brick and Mo...see ya Brick. Brick is average at best now. Mo can't be replaced. Oline has been pretty poor since '11. Last season was probably the best oline play we have seen in awhile, which is pretty average.
2 years at $10 million. Fully guaranteed. $5 million per year. Take it or leave it. I've been riding the Jason Spriggs 20th pick bus for quite a while. D'Brick started as a rookie.
