i say we ban the jets from ever picking 4th again..... seriously no matter how you slice it a #4 pick should be starting to breakout in year 2. its hard to measure breakout with an OT but what we have seen so far this year does NOT bode well. if it continues i can see the jets moving him to RT in the future and go back to the drawing board for the LT. jil
I love how Jet fans blame all the issues on the line on Brick..when funnily enough he had a very good game. Unfortunately no one ever takes the time to actually WATCH the O-line.
Broseph...we played two AWESOME defenses. I think Brick will be able to hold it down against the majority of the teams we face. Stop giving up on your team.
Most fans on this site view D'Brick through "Munoz colored glasses." I hope he does come around because he can't be moved to any other position on the O-line. We knew his run blocking was his weakness but I didn't expect him to get pushed backwards so often. We need him to at least be a dominant pass blocker.
So...a lot of you have given up on a second year player at one of the hardest positions in football, one who has started from day one and provided solid protection since. Are you really that bored? Sit back take a deep breath and harp on guys like J-slack who obviously have proven over time that they can't cut it instead of bashing a guy, who from all accounts, has been working his ass off and plays like he practices. The team drafted based on his potential, not his current ability. Just like Leon Hall was thought to be more "NFL ready" than Revis, yet we passed on him for the player with a higher ceiling. Now a higher ceiling means the player has further to go, and that takes time. So quit yur bitchin and allow the man to develop. If he isn't a brick wall by the end of year three then I'll eat my words, but until then, worry about something worthwhile. 'smy boyee | \/
The Jets should do like I do in madden franchise. I trade my 1st round pick for the 3rd pick in round 2 and the 3rd pick in round 4 and the 3rd pick in round 6. Works every year
..And during those entire 4 years, you've been turning every thread into an anti- d rob sound off! Give it a rest!
We have a winna! Even at DT Dewayne sucked, never lived up to that pick and D'SuckaShaw same thing. Great scouting there Jets, Mel Kiper was right, Jets have no idea what they hell they are doing when it comes to drafting. Hell even Ellis sucks now that Abe is gone. Look at the picks Parcells made in Dallas, changed that team around using the draft and FA with the quickness, but not us, hey lets get some character guys, Mangini guys! yeah whatever.
Anotheer prime example of jets fans BLINDLY wanting their players to be busts. We should never make a first round pick again
I wasn't as high on DBrick as a lot of people, I wanted to trade down for Cutler or Davis. I thought DBrick did very well in pass protect last year and it's kind of hard to see where we are on the OL this year with all the changes and the fact we played two outstanding defensive fronts in our first two games. If you look at our team the last two years we have had a carousel on the line and at running back, not to mention 2 QB's in two games. It's very hard for anyone on the O to get comfortable, especially young players in that situation. Great OL are built and play together for awhile. I think it's very premature to call this guy a bust at this point. The Jets are rebuilding the line, have a new RB and will probably have a new QB at some point this year. I have a feeling this guy is going to be one of the real solid pro's on this team for a long time. I'm very comfortable with where we are in the rebuilding of this team and while are drafts have not been perfect we have clearly added a lot of talent and DBrick is one of those talents.
Wanting? You have had to look at DeWayne for a few years now, think he is worth the 4th pick in the draft? Brick you impressed yet? Look at other high draft picks made by some other teams, shouldn't we get one right at some point? It sucks but their play speaks volumes, I am sorry you don't see it. Besides Rhodes what other stand out draft pick have we had in the last few years? Vilma is average, Ellis sucks without Abe, etc etc
The Jets had a couple of choices with the number 4 pick. They could take the highest rated player on their board and probably every other NFL draft board at that point which was DBrick or they could trade down and take a QB or Davis and hope they could get a LT later in the draft. Taking a must need position who also happens to be the highest rated player on every draft board is not a dumb pick, it's exactly what you are suppossed to do in the draft.
