24 minutes into a 10 hour shift the morning after DST did it's dirty work. I can't imagine that even 1% of the population is farming at this point. Why do we keep to a system designed to allow farmers to get up at 4am and keep working profitably until 7pm? It's not like anybody in the western world would work those hours anyway, let alone at the antiquated job of homestead farming.
Daylight savings is an antiquated practice, but it has/had nothing to do with farming. The sun shines the same amount of hours a day no matter what you do to your clock.
A lot of countries are getting away with this practice. Time for USA to follow suit. Daylight savings time is antiquated.
Who the hell is making money off of this? That's the only reason that makes sense to me for the continued existence of DST.
