I'm pretty sure that Vlad the Impaler will fill Faneca's spot at left guard. We need to draft a right tackle. Kyle Calloway would be a hell of a pick up in the 4th round. I'd rather go after a defensive lineman, but if the Jets can somehow acquire an extra 4th, then Calloway should definitely be considered.
I really don't think we need to invest this much into the OL all in one draft. We do have some depth players, and I don't see anybody else from our OL being cut. Next year we can polish out the remainder. Then again, this draft isn't like most draft's, and the depth of this draft is crazy good, maybe you're right. We could probably get a solid OL player early again, and still come up with a very solid DL/LB pick-up in the later rounds. I just wish we had more picks in this draft, it's so good.
Like what the Jets've done thus far (admit the Jints/Dolpns have done well) and hope the Jets can grab some OL/DL support in the later rounds. As to the UDFA's (and viewing outside the box just for a second), Mr. E do you think Robert Malone (Fresno St.) clears the 7th round and whom the Jets maybe take a shot at? Malone appears to have athletic skills, i.e. he isn't some one-dimensional "kicking camp" produced robot, meaning he can directional kick (Feagles/Horan-long careers) and employ Aussie Rules football "chip" technique on inside-the-20 kicks if need be as well. I saw a number of WAC games this past year (saw Fresno's game--and Malone in warmups--versus Rutgers in '08) and this kid looked very solid. I'd like to get him but I'm leary of the Pats grabbing him. His cousin Tom punted for NE and along with Bulldog coach Pat Hill's connection with Belichek, hmmm who knows. I know a lot of TGG folks'll say "just a punter, so what?" but Weathersford's pedestrian imho and come November onwards when the games are huge, in the Meadowlands that's gonna call for someone who can more than hold their own against the opposition and instead eventually help win the field position battle. Whatta think regarding his availability? Ok, I'm done. Back to discussing "football players" ;-)
