I heard somewhere a while back that Mariotta would stay after to practice taking snaps from under center....wish I could remember the source tho

    That's exactly what I thought.

Rex wanted it known why he was fired and it fell firmly on Geno.

Of course. And I'm sure a diligent guy has been working on it every offseason and when he gets to his pro day he'll show everyone that he's mastered it.

Yet folks will tell you unless you've done it as a 20 year old I'm college you can't learn it as a 22 year old in an NFL camp and offseason and a year sitting on the bench learning.

Btw, Connor Cook is OLDER than Mariota.

But he did take 2 snaps from under center so he had SOME foundation that Mariota had NEVER had.

Listening to Bowles is music to my ears, compared to the claptrap of the last six years...It's Mozart, after all that bullshit... lmao

    Does victory formation count?

He doesn't even need to show he mastered it just that he can do it

At the very least it'll show he has the work ethic to master it

Cam was very "raw" coming out if college but he turned out OK.

It confirms it even more, this man sucks under center, has marginal experience doing so and at the pro-level he still can't do it. If I've never seen Mariota do this what makes you think he can do it at the pros? What makes you think he can develop it? Just show me you can do it consistently, prove it and Mariota will make me a believer - it doesn't have to be perfect but it must be better then Geno.

LOL - so happy you replied to that comment, I am laughing my ass off right now

He's the most physically gifted QB to come out in years and reportedly extremely smart, dedicated and hard working.

So yeah he's going to master it very quickly.

It's a massive red herring by the Amari Cooper/Connor Cook crowd.

Absolutely. ANY experience taking snaps from under center, even in high school, is more important than organic talent.

Get that inferior player with pro style experience, it's more important than any other skill.

I'd still consider trading the pick to the Eagles if they are willing to break the bank for him

In other words you'd be happy with continued mediocrity for the next 10 years.

Did Mariota take snaps under center in HS? Do you have proof?

Jets SB fortunes don't end if they don't get Mariota. Other QBs will come.

    That's fair.

If you're 90% or even 80% sold he'll be a great NFL QB then you can NOT pass him up for any number of first round picks.

Would Pittsburgh or Indy or the prior Indy or NE or GB or NO trade their QB for 3 first round picks and a bunch if 2s and 3s?

No. Because no amount of great complimentary players is as important as the great franchise QB.

This. Rex and his whole crew are clueless, classless, and incompetent. He won't get a 3rd HC contract. I'm truly shocked that he got a 2nd. He will be exposed for the fraud he is in Buffalo.

That HS comment was a joke and I am laughing my ass off that you responded.

And there is no QB on the 2 year horizon as good as Mariota, so you are looking 4-5 years down the road EVEN IF you can get that QB in 3 years.

That's ok, I'm used to mediocrity.
